In my head, I'd love to think it was Storm Shadow v2, but it was actually, probably, the garish Toxo-Viper.

I had "aged out" on figures after the '87 line. Fast Draw might have been my last figure. I bought and read the comics for a bit after that. Last issue I bought was around #90.
Now, I did buy a few figures after '87 for my brother. I remember Shipwreck, Capt. Grid Iron, Sub Zero and Gnawgahyde.

The last one I personally bought was Backblast because he looked like Bazooka to me when I was a kid. I vividly remember him exploding after I turned him one too many times, lol.
The last figure I was gifted was my favorite from my childhood the Crimson Guard Immortal. last vehicles I got as a kid were at a garage sale, a Hiss II, Warthog, and Phantom x-19 with Ghostrider. Parts were missing on all of them but I loved them. He looks happy to be here. Quote:
Oh man... I stopped collecting around the Eco Warriors time, so I think my last figures were Desert Scorpions, Snow Serpent 2, or Crimson Guard Immortals. I honestly wasn't playing with them anymore, at that point, but I thought those three figures looked good and I just had to buy them. Should have kept them in the packages.... curse my past self!
Finding Joes, comics, or baseball cards at flea markets made the day golden. I never did any of the mail-aways, but they looked cool. |

I ?aged out? in 1984 and I think my last real childhood figure was Mutt. However, after just a 2 year hiatus, I couldn?t resist buying a Techno Viper when I saw it in the store. That opened the floodgates and, as a teenager, I collected consistently all the way to 1991. GI Joe then became very difficult to find in the UK and I more or less stopped collecting. I did pick up 1 or 2 figures during trips to the US?and it seems that Shadow Ninja Snake Eyes was the last figure I bought at retail?..not exactly great way to end?

Last vehicle: Dreadnok Cycle (a fairly poor choice imo); and actually looking back I bought the most figures in '87 out of any year, so it's weird I only bought 1 vehicle that year
Last figure: Blizzard - '88, and I really bought him more out of habit, and that was the last action figure/toy of any kind I ever bought (until adult collecting of course) Quote:
My last vehicles were the 1988 Rolling Thunder and stellar stilleto. My last figures were 1990 night creeper and undertow. Less than a year later, I was about to be 14 and started to lose interest in toys.
In college my first purchases after discovering ebay were most of the cool ?89 and ?90 figures I missed out on. |

Reminds me of that sad meme, "At some point, you and all your friends went outside to play together for the last time, and none of you knew it". You never knew it was your last Joe lol... until a decade or two later when we started back up again!
