Some of the vehicles are great for custom fodder, but other then that they are mediocre.

BF2000 was my last big foray into Joes as a kid. I had (have) four of the six vehicles and three of the 1987 figures. I kind of lost interest in GI Joe after that; I was getting older, Nintendo was more fun, and BF2000 just wasn't very compelling.

As a kid, I liked that I could get a two pack for about the same price as a single Joe regardless of me not knowing who they were. I remember being really disappointed when I got the vehicles years later as the "Fortress" was kind of lame. Like most things from my childhood through they have grown on me since. I really like the Club figures and Conquest repaint. I just wish the figures had removable helmets so I didn't need to do it myself.

I always liked that Dodger looked straight out of the Aliens film.

I got them for a Christmas and still remember the feeling of disappointment when I realized the vehicles didn't actually fit together to form a base. They just sat adjacent to each other, with their garish colors and cheap feeling plastic. That was the beginning of the end for me...which was less an end and more a long lay off.

I never had them as a kid but have acquired all the figures and have at one point during my 4 year vintage collecting spree have had the Vector Jet, Dominator, Sky Sweeper and Eliminator. The Vindicator and Marauder never interested me enough to get. The Vector Jet was one I always wanted as a kid and when I acquired one a few years back it did not disappoint - It's a little smaller than I would like and the turret is crazy but it just works for me. The Sky Sweeper is a very cool anti-aircraft tank and the Eliminator plays a nice utility jeep role in my Joe Verse. The Dominator was ok but I decided to get rid of it and replace it with the 1990 Avalanche.
I actually really like the original figures - my only gripe is that their weapons all sucked. The all do well as vehicle drivers either for their intended vehicle or pretty much any other armored vehicle I have in my collection. I have never come across a BF 2000 figure from the original 87 lineup that suffers from cracked elbows or waist pieces. I am only speaking from my experience but I feel these are some of the most durable figures from the vintage run. I agree with Truejoefan regarding the FSS Figs - I have only seen images but they looked great. I do have the BF 2000 Conquest and think it is a great jet - the BF colors on the Conquest look very nice. |

I liked the figures, blaster being my favorite. The vehicle base thing coulda been better but i genuinely liked the figs.
