Decided to try to jump-start this thread because I saw an Ironken 3000 video this morning, & it has me wondering. The video showed a pic of the new Lightyear Blast & Battle XL-15 jet, with a Classified Duke laying in the cockpit.
In the screenshot I took, you can see that the way Duke is situated, the canopy is unlikely to close, but it looks like there's room to slide the figure down a little further, & it might close completely. The jet is $44.99 & includes a 5" Buzz figure, so I'm tempted to get it, even if it doesn't fit Classified figures (it might fit Black Series better), because it's a cool-looking space fighter. It's 20" long, & sells for $45, including a figure...how have we not gotten anything more than motorcycles for Classified? Is anyone else mystified by that? This thing looks comparable in size to either a Skyhawk, or a S.H.A.R.C., & we've only gotten two motorcycles, in two years, & year three of this line looks to give us...a third motorcycle, which is a repaint of the second vehicle released. Does Hasbro think other small vehicles, like a Flight Pod, or Polar Battle Bear, wouldn't sell? I see so much talk about Haslab, & it really starts to upset me, that collectors are just accepting that crowd-funding model, that Hasbro as a multi-BILLION dollar corporation does NOT ever need to do to sell toys, as the best way to get Classified vehicles, going forward. Mattel just proved we don't have to expect less. But Iron Ken just had a video up of one painted like the Conquest. https://youtu.be/wYu-IJp707I Hard choice do a vintage viper or a VF-84.

That XL-15 really reminds me of the atmospheric viper from Caprica.

Really the Ferret is what we should have gotten instead of The COIL. That thing was just not good. Looked kinda playskool next to Baroness, and especially when compared to Breaker and The RAM. There's so many great classic small vehicles that they could do. The Ferret, The FANG, The CLAW, The Trouble Bubble, The Night Landing, The Polar Battle Bear, the Deluxe Zartan should have came with a Swamp Skier. I don't have any idea what they were thinking with The Coil. I'm glad we're getting Retro Carded Baroness because I skipped the CI version because I didn't want to pay for two figures to get one and a bike I'd just give away to good will.

But yeah, I did see IK3000's latest video on it. The customs are REALLY making me want to get one, just to see if I could get it to look like a Conquest. |

I don't think much, if any, modifications are needed to fit 6-inch figures from various lines. I think they fit snugly if you do nothing, but removing the claw/arm mechanism that makes Buzz Lightyear stand or sit gives them some room. I think regardless of what you do, 1:12 scale figures basically lay down, maybe VERY SLIGHTLY sit up.

If the Classified HasLab is The Thunder Machine, I'd be fine with that. It's a vehicle I don't really want (I know, sacrilege), & the Dreadnoks are my least favorite part of G.I. Joe (I know, FURTHER sacrilege lol).

The pilot will be really reclined but from both videos there is enough room with that trapeze removed. The modification looks simple. Thankfully Mauricio Chinchilla Oreamuno knows the importance to include a parts view. Note: Images are from IronKen's video. Edit: Duke fits without cutting just parts removal. Seating position isn't much different than a BD-5 Micro Jet. No back rest but end up with a little cargo compartment behind the pilot. https://youtu.be/L8ueDjD83-s Before finding Sixinchaf's work saw that the Buzz wings fit in the storage space and deploy when he posts out. Any Macross fans think this ejection process is like the VF-25? Either way this looks like a great toy. Now wondering if I can put Buzz's wings on a Fortnite Dark Voyager for a Classified sized Buzz Lightyear.

WELLLLLLLLL, here's the cherry on top. From Ironken 3000's latest video, this guy rob124243 on IG made a mini Night Raven/Cobra version of the XL-15 & this looks AMAZING. Best version yet, imho. Here's some screenshots from the video:

That Night Raven looks elegant I wonder if he dyed the canopy red or used clear red paint?
The confederate Cobra pilot really adds to the set. It is odd that this discussion was moved to the General tread since there is a sticky stating the General thread is not for toys. But not to clog this up anymore. https://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-j...ml#post5530005
