Found Action Force randomly ordered the set :S If Hasbro keeps making it harder to collect their figures its the only option it seems when just under half the line are exclusives something is wrong. |

I don’t.
The Bludd figure looks very cool but personally my days are over collecting 6 to 7 inch scale long ago... a) You run out of room and shelf space, b) They are too expensive for the most part, well all that BS exclusive stuff is, c) You realise you will never get most of the cool vehicles or play sets... now that’s okay with superhero lines etc like Marvel and DC but not a line like GI Joe that needs a lot of the vehicles, so reckon that’s the most important one right there. I’m happy for the 6 inch collectors that are digging this but Hasbro should not forget the 1:18 line that made GI Joe the success it is today and ignore the hardcore 1:18, even O-ring fans, Retro is a far cry and a bit of a joke to all the great lines like POC etc from the past! Saying that, I could still buy a 6 inch Snake Eyes, just to display him with all my Marvel Legends, DC Direct etc, but that’ll be about it. |

Except the first wave was still relatively scarce as far as mass retail figures go. I'd say only Roadblock has been "Easy" to find in stores, and in the second wave only Cobra Commander was particularly easy to get ahold of from what I've seen.
My purely unscientific reasoning for this is that those are the only two figures I've seen on pegs more than two or three times while out "hunting." By comparison the only non-exclusive figures I have never seen on pegs at all thus far are Wave 1 Snake-Eyes, Red Ninja, and Cobra Infantry.

As for the OP idea. It will never happen. Neither a mainstream Action Force film, not Hasbro caring. Even if GI Joe were to die off again, they would just not care and move onto their many successful brands.

AWOL, very true, yeah sadly, only reason I’m not big into them Classifieds is because of the lack of vehicles and all the ones that’ll never get made. Weird though, in the past with the 12 inch GI Joe and Action man they made plenty of huge vehicles back then, kinda shows you how much Hasbro’s progressed or well... not.

All of the non-exclusive figures are/were pretty easy to get on Amazon and other online retail outlets.

Regarding the topic of this post, I can speak for myself by saying that Valaverse has saved GI Joe for "me." With Classified, it just stopped being fun and has constantly been frustrating and disappointing. After being disappointed (yet again) with the latest GI Joe reveals last Friday, I have honestly found myself not caring anymore. I have no time to go toy hunting at Targets early in the mornings, or keep an eagle eye on social media just to see the latest drops on Hasbro Pulse and be disappointed on sellouts after 5 seconds. To me this is not collecting. I like the convenience of going to an online retailer (eg. BBTS) and ordering my Classified there. Unfortunately, Hasbro doesn't make that possible all that much.
But Action Force is a breath of fresh air! I have found myself really invested in the storyline (through the comics) and the figures themselves look absolutely incredible! And best of all, I was easily able to place my pre-order for the entire first series through BBTS. And I was even able to place my pre-order for the Wasp Raider botcon exclusive! I did all of this without frustration or disappointments. I have watched a number of Bobby Vala's interviews and livestreams, and he seems to be a really fun and talented guy who is a huge GI Joe fan and doesn't play games with his customers like Hasbro does. He just wants to make great toys and get them in the hands of collectors as easily as possible, and so far he's on the right track of doing that. Action Force may not legally be GI Joe, but it's definitely in spirit, and for me, Bobby Vala has saved GI Joe. Even my wife, who's always been supportive of my toy collecting, is excited for Action Force!

Yeah I love the comics. They're great reads and the universe that he's built for AF is very creative. Looking forward to the next issues. I also love the fact that he's got Sgt Slaughter and Steel Brigade. I've always been a big fan of the Sarg, and am looking forward in seeing who's the next celebrity character for series 2. My guess and hope is that he's gotten an action hero from the 80s. Someone like Chuck Norris, Mr T or Van Dam. If Charles Bronson was still with us, I would've loved to see him in Action Force. What a perfect match that would've been!
