Look at it this way - 25th figures are affordable on Ebay now, so just wait 14 years and you can own a Classified Viper or Bludd lol

He's not saying they only sold one. He's saying they use a different method of getting them to show as sold out than other products. They aren't just leaving the sold out status connected to the inventory like they normally do. Because of this, it won't show back up as in stock if somebody cancels thier order.
His question seems to be whether this also means they might be deciding when to mark the product as sold out rather than letting it happen naturally. I'm not endorsing his theory, I'm just clarifying that he's not saying what you think he's saying. I’ve seen items remain sold out even after canceling my order ie TF Kingdom Cyclonus |

They do though. Seen it happen myself fairly recently when cancelling a few items. Shit, I even got an email telling me said items were back in stock minutes after cancelling.

why couldnt the way they distribute and make some exclusives not be a way to sabotage their lines?
wouldnt it be preferential to sell at full price, instead of clearance prices months later like the mandalorian figures? |

LOL, as if Hasbro isn't going to repaint the shit out of this line and make you all buy it over and over and over again. |

Was it? What was released in 2002? I wasn't collecting during that time. I didn't pick it back up until first 25th releases.
The million dollar question. Although I've NEVER seen Mando figures on clearance. I would have bought all I could find.

But to what end? Why create a line to sabotage it? It’s not like the transitional age when they wanted to actively phase out 3.75. There’s no reason too have bothered with 6” Joe if they want to “sabotage” it into failure.

Once again: Retailers were conservative in how much of Classified they ordered, because it was effectively an untried line. That's led to some early scarcity that has led to scalper hype (which is at an all-time high in the last year or so as so many people started trying their hand at flipping retail product during the Pandemic) which has led to even further scarcity at primary retail, particularly for exclusive products. As with the 25th line, eventually Hasbro and retailers will catch up, and that's when the trouble starts. If we're lucky they will have learned lessons from the past and let things balance out. If we're not, well, we'll get a couple good years of good product and then the line dies again due to overproduction based on the initial hype. |
