And a little bit frustrated with ALL the different informationS, sizes of g.i.joes, companies and everything. Its harder than I thought trying to put some order in my head and to find stores close to check.
What are the first steps you would recommend for lost souls like mine? Please be patient if I start asking too much |

#1. Don’t be a completionist. It’s not the end of the world if you’re missing one figure from a certain line.
#2. There are 5 major Joe eras: -1 o-ring (classic 4” 80s figures) -2 new sculpt (outdated 4” figures from the 2000s, can be found cheap but are generally not well liked, but they do have many good figures) -3 25th. 4” updates to the 80s figures. The figures themselves are outdated but they look really nice unopened in their retro style cards -4 Modern Era. 4” Movie figures and the 4” lines from 2010-2016, plus various exclusives and the new Retro lines. These are modernized versions of the classic characters. They look the best of all the 4” lines, but they have become extremely expensive over the past year and a half -5 Classified. This is the current ongoing 6” line. They are modern updates to the characters. They are fantastic figures and all except the Target exclusives can be found for good prices if you look around. My tip for this line would be to just ignore the Target exclusives and get the easily attainable retail versions instead. This line is ongoing so it’s probably the best for new collectors. #3. Preorders are your friend. Retail is very unreliable these days for buying figures, so preordering online is the best way to secure a figure. #4. Have fun. Don’t be weighed down by complaints and nitpicking, these are just plastic toys and nothing more. Enjoy what you like, and if there’s something you don’t like, simply don’t buy it. One mans trash is another mans treasure, so like what you like and let others like what they like. Hope this helps and YO JOE!!!! |

Hi Yeet,
I really appreciate your comments. Long ago I understood that completionism is not an option (in any field). About the joe areas, the O-ring is the one I know, or at least used to because is the one I played with.(I have around 100 of these guys). I will start checking the other areas. Just before writting this lines I order ed a Classified Snake Eyes to see how confortable I feel with this size. And yes, Im here to have fun, learn and enjoy. So thank you for your warm welcome. |

Welcome Vic!!! Yeet gave a great breakdown. Besides Pre-orders, and brick and Mortar stores, you can make a Buy/Sell/Trade thread in here, and list your wants in there. Most Tankers are pretty good about giving fair deals. Good luck and welcome again!!!

Welcome Vic! Yeet is one of the best around for Joe knowledge, and a great dude. You can’t go wrong with Yeet!
Best of luck to you. This is a great place for fun, friends and plenty of Joe talk.

Yeah, pre-order and focus on certain characters or vehicles that you like. It should be a fun hobby, not a headache. Yojoe was the place to get all this info for years, but as time has gone on, not so much.
