Here’s some good advice, though probably not what you’re looking for. Consider not collecting. Could avoid a big expenditure of time and money and just do something else with the limited time and money we are given. I don’t know your situation, but if you’ve got kids I’d say spend your time and money with them while you can.

https://toys.hisstank.com/gi-joe-database-index Is there still a significant G.I. Joe fandom in Spain, btw? That's certainly a rather unique take (in light of the focus of this forum).

Yes I have a kid (8) and my idea is to enjoy the g.i.joe together. We spend a lot of time together playing and sharing and the reason Im back. I love to see my old joes living adventures again at home.😊 And although I wont collect toys as a whole, Im pretty sure that some Vipers will come home soon 😶 Thats something I need to find but probably the answer is No. |

You can check out 3DJoes.com. It catalogs the full vintage line, and it is starting to include the Modern Era figures. It has officially replaced YoJoe.com, as Yojoe.com is no longer run by Joe fans. 3DJoes is.

#4. Have fun. Don’t be weighed down by complaints and nitpicking, these are just plastic toys and nothing more. Enjoy what you like, and if there’s something you don’t like, simply don’t buy it. One mans trash is another mans treasure, so like what you like and let others like what they like.

Thank you for the advice.

I think the idea that Turner was trying to convey, is, don't let this hobby consume you. Which can be true of any hobby really. Hobbies can turn into addiction really easily for some (speaking from my own experience). However, my kid also loves collecting and she and I have had a great time and great memories toy hunting together.

pick a period of gijoe you like and collect it. be patient.
i collect ONLY 87-91 gijoe figures. i dont pay more than 20 bucks for a complete figure. prices are high right now because shit heads on facebook looking for clout buy these things for insanely high prices in auctions just to brag in groups. an 87 tunnel rat by himself is not worth 30 dollars. graded figures are a scam, APG proves that by being a scam in of itself. |

The only thing I'd add to the plethora of advice/suggestions is do what you think and feel will strengthen your relationship with your 8-year old and that's spending quality/bonding time together. It sounds like both of you enjoy action figures and since kids tend to follow their parents lead in almost everything, I'd encourage you to rediscover your passion in collecting GI Joes as it'll spark his interest as well! I did my best to ride that wave with my daughter while it lasted. Surprisingly enough, she's still having fun posing our action figures for photo shootouts lol
Yes, it means spending time/money (degree of collecting being a personal choice & as with everything else requires some balancing - life long exercise IMO) but that's merely means to an end which is creating beautiful memories with your kid. Disfruten!! Last edited by paokole; 04-13-2021 at 11:10 AM.. |

Your kind of overthinking it. Don't overthink it. Get on yojoe.com and check out the modern figures of the characters you know. If you like those go to ebay and do a search fore those one and get them. Start from there. Gotta remember they are just toys not meant to be that stressful.
