I cant find what network first aired the Sunbow GI Joe ARAH series! In my area it was the station that became FOX. Was this for everybody or was it different? Im trying to find schedule of all the cartoons that aired in the afternoon when GI Joe was on.

I don't remember the station, either, but for me, G.I. Joe and Transformers aired back-to-back.

Looks like it was an independent channel according to this page from the same issue which advertises for the California Bay area. I guess maybe it did become FOX.

Yeah, GI Joe (along with most toy-based cartoons) was syndicated so it was likely an independent UHF channel in most markets. Around here it was Channel 20 UHF in the afterschool/afternoon slot. They became Channel 13 VHF and then a Fox affiliate. The Saturday morning toons tended to be funded, produced and aired by the Big 3 Networks, so the syndicated stuff like GI Joe and Transformers were usually relegated to afterschool weekdays and Sunday mornings.

It was syndicated, so there was no "one" station. It was different in every market. Also, FOX didn't exist yet.
Transformers was on WUAB-43 in Cleveland, so most likely, so was GI Joe. But I remember Thundercats was on WOIO-19. I didn't watch GI Joe so I honestly don't know. I feel like it and Jem and TF were all on 43 though. There's an old commercial on one of the Transformers DVDs that was made by my local station. Pretty cool. |

You guys have good memories. My first chance to watch the cartoon was when select episodes were released on VHS tape by FHE. Red Rockets Glare and Cobra's Creatures being two of the first episodes I saw.
