who said he couldn't? and where did I get bent out of shape? clearly I have discussed this extremely rationally, the farthest thing from it indicating it bothers me. I rather enjoy the dynamic being discussed.
perhaps you should attempt to understand what is going on before chiming in. did you really just drop the internet gloves? how sad. |

I grew up the same as your son, playing with my brothers toys and such(ARAH and TF G1). I passed on Sigma 6 and Valor Vs. Venom and fell in love with 25th anniv. but I also have come to learn to enjoy the movie and love the ROC toys more than the ones for ROTF or even my classics. If your wife will let him see the movie he will love it.

are we to believe the child came to this conclusion on his own and isn't simply repeating what he has heard his father say to make him happy, which is something very common with children? the fact that old papa is proud of his son reveals his own position on the matter and it is more likely than not he is just repeating proud ol' dad's own position. essentially, daddy is proud that his son can repeat his own feelings and seeks his dady's approval.
that's very sad. nothing makes me happier than seeing my daughter think and act on her own. the last thing I want her to be is me.

I'm just not sure what the OP is trying to get at here. The kid seems really distressed.

Are you really questioning his parental skills? What business is it of yours what he allows his child to watch?

Dude, calm down. I was simply wondering if it was due to the violence or that he just thinks ROC is not "real" GI JOE. I respect that they are not letting him watch it for the violent content (which I missed as the reason in the OP. Sorry.).
