I'm annoyed by the decision, but I don't get the hostility to MGR.
We've avoided paying tax on MGR goods for years. They were one of the few US suppliers who marked the value of packages so we did not get stung by customs charges. UK govt and EU have realised that they are not capable of policing taxes on items from abroad, so are passing the buck on to the supplier. There are big businesses within the UK, including the one I work for, who are struggling with this and the impact of Brexit on supply chains. MGR have decided that the overhead isn't worth it for them, which is fine. Annoying for us, but it's their business and their choice. Maybe they will change their decision if it's worth their while in the future. I'm looking at an alternative option to get my "last" Marauder order so I can finish the kitbashes I had planned. |

MGR can easily sell to the UK - privately via emailing in orders and invoicing via PayPal. Or simply listing items on eBay where VAT is collected automatically. US/EU buyers of UK listings have to do likewise on eBay with tax added
MGR simply won't think laterally. That's the annoying part. On a personal note, why it takes over a month to process an order when everything is apparently in stock isn't something to be impressed with.

Well for me I Am more than Happy now throwing money at JOYTOYS instead.
Yes some parts like berets but hey Can make my own if it come s down to it. I was never a fan of the figures as solid one piece torsos. Always thought that was a Backwards move personally. Plus K9 wise JoyToy have a Uber Articulated one in the pipes I believe. So Happy to wait for that. Maybe and I have always thought this, maybe we Will finally see a UK set up doing weapons/accessories etc. I know a few talk it, so we will see. It is a shame with MJ but their call. Shame not listening to Options either but again in the end they loose the UK market, possibly EU market too once EU introduces the same method of VAT taxing. Just strikes me as weird as you have the likes of Valaverse AF (for instance) happily selling to the UK and They Just set up. |

Exactly. I've never heard of JOYTOYS. I'll look them up.

eBay is a terrible idea. Who is going to list and manage all those auctions? Who is going to pay the listing/selling fees? Who is going to keep adjusting inventory for the online store and eBay? You probably expect him to sell everything at the same price on eBay as his online store too? MJ already has established a hugely successful online store (Vala is just getting started). He doesn’t need the extra headache of eBay to bring him down.
Private sales are extra work too and again he will have to adjust the inventory manually for every order. It will also throw a wrench into filing his business taxes. Extra work for an already overworked guy is not the answer. The online store is the only focus he needs. The reason for shipping delays is due to the pandemic slowing everything down and every time new items are added to the store, there’s a mad rush of new orders. It’s enough to set shipping back 3-4 weeks. MJ is always upfront about the delays and has even gone as far to tell people not to order if they can’t handle the wait. The guy is already working overtime to get the product out. There’s a simple and easy work around, why complicate it. |

So on that I would think it would be fine. |

I know he had an eBay store. You forget he closed it because it wasn’t worth it. Why do you keep suggesting that he sink his time and resources into a losing proposition? eBay does not benefit MJ at all and his online store is already a huge success and working for him. Bottom line is that he’s already looked into other options and they aren’t feasible for his business. Sorry, but the problem isn’t on MJ’s end. It’s on your end.

As many are complaining of "IN STOCK" on site and Still waiting 3 plus weeks within the US to receive. Maybe that he is Not on top of it is more the issue. Though also as many have pointed out that he could easily do email for UK to purchase direct from him or paypal invoice. Neither are complicated options and helps MJ keep it on the side to avoid VAT. When others with their side business Are still dealing with the UK. Maybe an excuse to lessen the workload using the UK Gov VAT? Guess we see when EU introduce the same VAT Taxes and if MJ just drops Europe too. |

I agree that listing individual items on ebay for people to pick through is neither practical or desirable for Marauder. Nor would I suggest selling on the side (which is basically illegal tax evasion).
However I will go back to my suggestion on the first page, if Marauder allowed UK buyers (and soon EU, and potentially other countries) to order as usual through their website, but when it came to payment only gave the option "ebay". You place your order through their website, Marauder then set up an ebay listing for the total amount (with some generic title and description so others aren't tempted to buy it) and email you the listing number. You then buy that listing through ebay, allowing ebay to collect the VAT and pay it to the UK Govt. Once paid Marauder could then go back to processing the order as usual through their website. There would be ebay fees to pay which I am sure Marauder will add on to the total (although I am also sure they would normally have fees to pay to the credit card companies which they are now avoiding). Setting up the ebay listing would literally take about a minute (they could have a template set up which just requires changing the price). Potentially ebay would not let Marauder get away with the 3 week shipping delay (which would be good for us UK buyers), but any potential downside from fast tracking those orders I am sure will be more than made up from the profit they are currently missing out on by just blanket banning us. I don't see any major downside, they get the sales and profit, we get the product we want and the tax gets properly collected and paid. |
