From a very quick google search Canada are bringing in an online sales tax in July, I didn't look into it in any detail to see if it applies to Marauder, but Online Sales Taxes do seem to be the way of the future for countries to boost their revenue so Marauder should look into a way of handling them or they will loose all international sales.
Expanding on the Ebay idea, if they offered "Ebay" as the payment method for international sales from affected countries on their website people could order as usual and Marauder could keep track of their stock in one place. After you place the order Marauder create a listing for the total amount (plus whatever they want to add to cover Ebay fees, although they should add this amount in the checkout on their site) and email the buyer the listing number. Then the buyer can just go into Ebay and purchase the listing to complete the sale. Ebay will collect the VAT and complete the tax returns along with the millions of other sales they do every day. If they wanted to they could even use Ebay's Global Shipping Programme to ensure it then passes through customs without any delay (although I wouldn't normally recommend the GSP!) In the (hopefully) short term until they do something like this, ordering through family/friends/and contacts in other countries they do ship to seems to be the only thing we can do. Easiest way is to get a trusted US contact to accept delivery of items ordered and they post it onto you in the UK when they receive it. Also, they can undervalue the parcels to prevent customs and import charges. It's what I've done. I got a reply from Marauder Inc who are happy to have my orders sent to a US address. Btw, you're on Instagram as action_force_the_80s aren't you?

Yes well, they aren't going to lift a finger to do any of that.

I suspect they are not going to do anything until other countries bring in the same deal and force their hand. But the above ebay idea does seem a fairly simple work around for them.

If anyones thinking of appealing to Marauder Inc to restart selling to the UK - don't bother - its like going round in circles with them - they just say the same crap. Frankly, I'm not impressed with them - every time you look at their website, they have 'now back in stock!' and yet, order items and suddenly its '3 weeks'...well, my 3 weeks are now up and my items - which will be sent to a contacts house in the US before he posts it onto me - are STILL 'processing'...
Marauder Inc don't listen to simple suggestions like restock items on eBay or allow customers in the UK to email them their orders and they invoice them privately via PayPal....frankly there's more entertainment to be had repeatedly smashing ones head against a brick wall that trying to appeal to Marauder Inc. They seem to think that if the UK Govt will cease charging VAT they will start accepting orders from the UK...yes, keep dreaming. Everyone else has to pay tax and VAT on purchases but Marauder Inc can't be bothered. What a way to run a business, once the EU start doing similar their business will dry up...serves them right to be honest, all they had to do was accept orders privately...but no.

Try appealing to the UK govt instead? MJ isn’t the one screwing you over, your government is. MJ looked into what he had to do keep business flowing to the UK and concluded that that it wasn’t worth the trouble. He knows the sales numbers and who is buying what from where.
Marauder is a small company run by 1 guy. MJ had a full time job already in addition to running guns for everybody. I’m not sure if he only works for himself now, but asking a guy with so little free time as it is to take on extra work and responsibilities isn’t the solution. Hopefully, there’ll be changes and MJ can ship to the UK again. At least there are currently options using third parties to get the goods. |

"try appealing to the UK govt instead?"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *wheeze* good one. The current PM when working to "Get Brexit Done" was told that his plans would be a massive logistical nightmare for business. His response? F*** business. The rest of his Cabinet are a bunch of incompetent sycophantic morons who shouldn't be in charge of a hot-dog stand never mind government departments. |
