Why Hasbro hire the same people who's design the Transformers toys for the G.I.Joe toyline ?

Transformers are pretty cool, why not ?

Because one is a transforming robot toy and one is a traditional action figure. The design and engineering process for them are vastly different.
Also, Hasbro does Transformers in partnership with Takara, so some Transformers are, from my understanding designed by Takara but Hasbro gets to use them. The point being Hasbro shares the molds with Takara. As far as I know Takara has no interest in Joe, so its' designers probably have little interest in working on the property. The good news, however, is that GI Joe just got a new Brand Manager from Transformers (though IIRC he's running both Transformers and Joe), and it's a guy that A: Has experience with Joe and B: Created a virtual renaissance in terms of Transformers toys that are faithful to old designs while still modern enough to not look out of place on today's shelves. |
