And I want to make sure others are as angered by it as I am
https://www.cbr.com/gi-joe-action-figures-ranked/amp/ Wetsuit? Nah Doc? Surely you jest. Barbecue? 🤭 Snake eyes v2 and storm shadow were always going to be top 3 but they are no where near the best.

I actually agree with 70% of it. I'd have changed the two you mentioned for Tunnel Rat, V2 Roadblock or Outback, and swapped out the V1 Destro to V2 or even 3 though.
Also, leaving Cobra Commander off of the list is something of a travesty.

These sorta things are always so subjective, it's kinda hard for me to get too worked up over someone else's personal opinion.
The top 6 (outside of Barbecue) seem to be pretty conventional choices, actually. (Even if I personally disagree.) Doc is very bland (Stalker v1 or even Heavy Duty would have been better). And while obviously the list needs a female representative, the Baroness figure is a wee bit boring. Plus looks too much like Michael Jackson. I'd replace her with either Zarana or Lady Jaye. Weird not to see Zartan or Snow Serpent. Oh, and would definitely take Eels over Wet-Suit.

Any type of list like this is going to be very dependent on your childhood favorites, so highly subjective lol. For instance, I'd put Crystal Ball in there, thus angering pretty much every Joe collector in history.

Any list that doesn't include Cobra Commander v1 is always going to be odd. I agree with Baroness, BAT, and Destro, but the others on the list are just someone else's personal favorites as a kid.

"Baroness is one of the most iconic characters in all of G.I. Joe. The Cobra Intelligence Officer made an immediate impression from her debut in 1984. Her scaly black armor is unique in the line, and she's one of the few major characters not to be revisited later on down the line. This is perhaps a recognition of how instantly iconic her first costume was (modern versions all essentially echo this first figure)."
Right there tells us he's a casual fan pretending to be otherwise, completely unaware of Hasbro's "no females" policy from 1987-1992 and unaware of the unproduced 1995 Baroness in a distinctly different outfit. "Barbeque was released as part of the exceptional wave of figures in 1985, though he didn't feature heavily in the comic book or episodes of the G.I. Joe animated series." Dude hasn't watched the cartoon in a long time, I guess. "The Viper is Coming" and "Captives of Cobra"? Lists are always click bait with predictable entries and those couple of "Really, that guy?" entries. Like former online critic told me once regarding worst movies lists "I could list the actual worst movies I've seen but no one would've ever heard of them." |

Ah, classic listicle weirdness... It claims to be ranking the figures but also kind of seems like it is ranking the characters. It isn't until they get to Snake Eyes that they specify the figure version in the character/figure title. Ah well.

That list is horrendous. Its as if a non Joe fan made a list of the characters he could barely remember from the one Sunbow episode he saw as a kid in the waiting room of a Honda dealership while waiting for his mom's mini van to get its tires rotated
jk but it could of at least had Outback or Duke or any figures that were actually just good figures instead of just picking the main characters from Sunbow |
