They're my favorite characters in the mythos because they're punk biker twins! They have a complex relationship in their whole family, and I don't know why Hasbro took away Zandar's ripped piece of his sister's shirt instead of starting with it to re-imagine the character.

I dared to think I could make a small difference with the obscure detail that Zarana and Zandar are twins, keep it from being axed....but they just took everything cool from the Zandar character entirely and didn't bother with him at all, which is even worse. Making that difference would have felt amazing.

Hasbro, please include Zarana's twin brother Zandar in the new mythos! A Classified figure and biography on gijoe.com is a great start! #SaveZandar and #SaveZandar'sScarf! It's a piece of Zarana's ripped shirt he keeps around his neck and shouldn't be appropriated for Zartan!

I don't understand how such attention to detail and obvious passion and respect by the Classified designers for the source material can fall so glaringly short of the Zandar character. Not including him, nor likely as Zarana's twin brother, and giving Zartan a scarf... how could they do that, and leave Zandar out of an obvious interest in the Dreadnoks? it really feels like the ultimate snub from Hasbro...

The line just started. Nearly 10 years on, there remains dozens of Star Wars Original Trilogy aliens and droid yet to be done. Transformers has been doing “Classics” for almost 15 years, and only just in the last couple years addressed Micromasters. And despite an entire line of Headmasters, Hasbro didn’t even touch the 1988 Headmaster characters outside of a few in the small dedicated assortment (meaning they still lacked bodies).
In terms of GI Joe, 25th Zartan hit in 2007. Zarana didn’t join him until 2011 (five years later), and Zander didn’t finally get a new figure (only his second) until a box set that same year.

In terms of Dreadnoks, that “character page” on GI Joe is still missing guys like Monkeywrench and Gnawgahyde. The Joe character page is still missing Beachhead (who just got a figure) and several “core specialists” like Tunnel Rat, Dial tone and Snow Job. Not to mention niche favorites like Falcon and Serpentor.

To me, it feels premature to doom and gloom on a line that isn’t even a year old. Everybody has a favorite, and Hasbro only has so many slots and resources to work from. That said, there are characters that are going to be a higher priority, especially if they tie into a new media or feature film.

Edit: It’s also worth noting that character priorities CAN (and probably WILL) change between different development teams. One notable story was that there was a Star Wars designer who was steadfast against remaking the Cloud Car. Once he left, a new Cloud Car was made. Aaron Archer (in Transformers) was opposed to headmasters and out of scale alt modes (Perceptor and Soundwave as handheld objects). In the years since he left, all of those things he said couldn’t be done have been done in some form.
In terms of GI Joe, the only reason Spirit became a central character in Sigma 6 was because the brand manager was a fan of the character and pushed for his inclusion.

Moral of the story? Never assume things can’t change when people move around at Hasbro.

Are you fucking serious? I mean, we all get by now, that you're obsessed with those two characters. And that's all fine, to each their own.
But the line isn't even a year old, they haven't even released some of the core characters yet, and you're already pouting about Zandar.
In all seriousness, you'll be lucky to see him before the line is discontinued. I doubt that he's in many people's top 50 cool-character-list, so don't expect to see him on the pegs soon. Literally all the other Dreadnoks are more popular than him.
I'm really not trying to bash you here, but you seem to be setting yourself up for disappointment over and over again. That can't be good for your health in the long run.

Yeah, I didn't want to rain on any parades but we'll probably see Road Pig, Ripper, Buzzer, Torch, etc. before we see Zandar. I could see Zarana making an appearance without him. But who knows, I actually love the idea of a two pack of those figures. Or heck, maybe even a four or five pack of Dreadnoks figures with some cool swampy box art!

I don't think I've ever asked you this before, but what are your thoughts on the 2011 Zandar? I'd assume you don't much care for this particular take? Because there's no way that so-called "scarf" he's wearing could have been torn from his sister's shirt (or from just about anyone's shirt, actually*). That thing is huge! Almost looks more like a poncho.

* Was quite tempted to take a (totally unnecessary) cheap shot at Sarah Huckabee Sanders here.

PS This comparison clearly illustrates the difference between the two:

http://generalsjoesreborn.com/images.../zandar-19.jpg

So unless that's Zarana's nightgown around Zandar's neck, Hasbro had apparently already abandoned the idea of tying the "twins" together through fabric-sharing long before creating Classified Zartan. Therefore I wouldn't worry too much about Zandar's fashion sense being "misappropriated" (or see it as some sorta ominous sign of things to come).

Where did you hear about the scarf being made of material ripped from her shirt, anyway?

Oh, and Happy International Women's Day, btw.

I believe that's Dreadnok Twins' personal head canon.

It's fanon. People like it. It suits the characters and their matching motif.
