One perk of being a projectionist is that I get to screen movies before they open, tonight we will be screening ROC......just felt like boasting.

I miss the days I worked as a projectionist. I also spliced the reels together. Was a fun job.
We used to bring our friends (and beer) into the theaters to watch the movies after hours.

thats pretty much what we do on a regular basis, however, these days there's no more reels to splice together, everything is digital. Building a movie now consist of plugging in a hard-drive and letting it download (which is fine by me)

The ol' black dot that would appear every 30 mins on the movie, and knowing what that meant. /sigh That was like an artform, lol

yeah I know what ya mean, if i had throw out a ballpark figure, I'd say I've probably built over 1000 movies over the past 6 years, it was cool, in a nostalgic sort of way, but these days i'd take a digital hard-drive over a 35mm film any day of the week. So much easier, never have to worry about dirty film, scratches, brain wraps, etc etc. plus the quality of a digital picture simply cannot be matched by a 35mm.
