I went to Blockbuster this morning and rented it for the PS3 for my boyfriend. He has been playing it for the last hour... I will ask what he thinks so far...He said "eh... I got some issues with it." I guess if you want a first hand review hit him up. His id here is delta1974 He would LOVE to answer your questions and tell you exactly what he thinks of it and why

I picked it up at lunch. Won't be able to play until get home. At least 4.5 hours.
TORTURE!! Looking forward to it. I'm not a hardcore gamer, I play one game now and then. Last "real" game I played was Assassin's Creed and that was a year ago when got the XBox 360. I've been playing the Lego games (Batman, Star Wars, Indiana Jones), cause they're fun and I love 'em. Can't wait for Harry Potter. I'm not a fan of FPS, at all. Not a fan of Co-Op games either. So when I play it tonight, I'll post a review later. Just setting the stage. I'm not "biased" by having played all these other games. I'll be coming at it as if it's the only game played (and it has been, in awhile, lol).

This game will drop in price pretty fast, as do most of the movie adaptation games. I don't expect much from this game, but it's Joe, so I'll wait until it's half price and snag it.

urgh heres a snip from IGN..
"I never want to shift to "easy" difficulty, but for me, medium stopped being fun halfway through the game. The first rule of game design: You never want your game to stop being fun. " this guy sounds like a moron. (oh wait its a woman named hilary goldstein lol) my review of this review is much lower than her review of the game. difficult games are great. anybody remember the originals from the 80's? theyre hard as hell and were all the more fun because of it unlike all these new pieces of crap that are nothing but flashy graphics and a pat on the back for people who have no skill at games. if its oldschool tough then that rocks. i play all my games on hardcore or extreme difficulty. lolz then she goes on to whine like a noob about checkpoints. good lord. this woman should not be reviewing games. Sad, but the reviewer basically cut and paste the same review from the Wii game to this one - which makes me wonder if the person even played the 360 version, or figured, "It looks the same on both!" I hope to find a review that it is more tailored for the system it was played on!

i bought the game and played it for a little while. its nothing fancy, but if you are a joe fan its pretty fun so far. when the original cartoon music starts playing its great! looks like lots of unlocks too. oh and by the way the gamestop code to unlock duke is hidden in the comic book. took me a while to figure out where the code was.

ANYWAYS, I agree and disagree at the same time. Your comment reminded me that games have become kind of soft. I usually play my games now on the 2nd to last (or medium for some games that only have 3 settings) difficulty unless you have to unlock the hardest which I think is lame in games. I enjoy the challenge typically and I can be an achievement point whore too so I like the bonus points. That said, the checkpoint thing is pretty dumb. Why the hell put checkpoints in a game if they aren't really checkpoints? When I play the game, if the levels aren't extremely long, then I could see making it more difficult because you can't continue from the checkpoint. A lot of the old classic games were either short enough that you could sit down and beat them in like an hour. Or they had a save point system. Come on, it's 2009....you shouldn't be back tracking along the game evolution highway. |
