out of curiosity, would it be for protection? aesthetics? boredom? I know nothing about ceramics, other than it makes for kick ass kitchen knives.

Sorry for the delay-subscribe wasn't on. Pretty much all of the above. I know it coats surfaces with a thin coat of glass- I have used it on automotive parts for a protective coating. Creamic coat really shines like its new when it is applied and cured. And yea im bored, have a lot of ceramic coating and am wondering if its ever been tried. Ill post pics in the next couple days

I'm genuinely curious myself, on many levels- mainly the purpose, of course, but being a projector myself, I'd really just like to see what it does. Post pics for sure.Ceramic knives are better than your average Farberware block knife, but they will never hold a candle to German or Japanese steel.

Will it stay on in the joints, and prevent joint rub?

I will have to post pictures of the results so far, and unfortunately the juice just isn't worth the squeeze (at least not appearance wise) I used prep spray, then coated with Proje' ceramic coat ( I use this on my cars/motorcycles) with a light buffing. I used Cobra Officer as a test bed. The surface area is just too small to make a notable difference in appearance. There is a slight shine, but ceramic sprays are expensive. Protection wise, you still have the hydrophobic reaction that ceramic coatings are noted for, water just rolls off. I'm still waiting to see if there is any long term discoloring of plastic or impact to 30+ year old plastics. So in a nutshell:
Appearance: no notable difference Protection: may be good for repelling water and protecting the metal parts from rusting. Most of us are not taking Torpedo, Deep Six and Wet Suit in the bathtub to underwater battles anymore. Price: high |

I would think it helps prevent against paint rub. I'm curious on how it effects the discoloring of figures. Hoping for a report back on that!
