3DJoes.com has become a TREMENDOUSLY better source for vintage ARAH stuff. Still has some gaps on the later year vehicles, but what's there is STILL better than where Yojoe has been left to.

Wow. Seems like public sentiment has really turned against these guys. Good thing I (instinctively) resisted reflexively signing that petition, because I'd feel like such a fool.
Although, in no way is that a criticism of anyone who did sign, of course.

3DJoes is absolutely wonderful, but it is only for vintage figures. Plus it's just not yojoe.com. Like I said, I'm just too sentimental. Toys R Us sucked for years, but I was still pretty heartbroken when it went away.

I know the Tank started a Database section on here. Any chance they can take over the function of YoJoe.com and update the database from 2016 on?

Yo Joe is a great resource, but it is very dated. It would be great if someone would built new a site. I would throw $50 at a lifetime membership to support such a site while it was in development. I would give $50 as a donation with no quid pro quo if such a site was already built and wasn't offering lifetime memberships.
FWIW, I just started made a copy of YoJoe.com. You can too! Just download HTTrack. So even if the site goes down and no one puts out a similar site, you can have your own personal archive. |

I'm not sure if those tools will get the YoJoe images without watermarks. But there is a "neat trick" to download YoJoe images without the watermark. Copy an image URL from YoJoe and you get this link:
https://www.yojoe.com/images/resize/...e/14/38924.jpg Remove this part from the URL: images/resize/w/MAX/ The URL is shortened and changed to a working link without a watermark: https://www.yojoe.com/imagestore/14/38924.jpg Recommended for personal use only of course. I will toss this info out there for anyone who might be interested. I just came across this thread and discovered there is a fair amount of mis-information being tossed around, even by long time YoJoe visitors.
YoJoe has not been fan owned since 2003. In 1997 or 1998 three fans: Corey Stinson, Eugene Son, and Conor Malone combined their three separate websites together forming YoJoe.com. During the next five years Corey would move on to create SmallJoes.com and Eugene moved on to focus on his writing career. This left Conor with full responsibility of YoJoe. Feeling the burden, Conor made a deal with Action Online, owners of figures.com, to sell them YoJoe in 2003. He was concerned that giving or selling the website to a fan of the hobby would not ensure the websites longevity. His hopes were that selling to Action Online would keep YoJoe online for years to come so that future fans could also enjoy the site. Had it not been for that sale, YoJoe might have disappeared years ago along with the many other websites that have disappeared such as Zartan’s Domain, JoeSightings, The Ultimate G.I. Joe Cartoon Site, JoeReloaded, Joe Writer’s Anonymous, and Castle Destro. Just to name a few, Action Online retained the web staff and chose one of them to be the new site administrator. Action Online owned YoJoe for the next fifteen years, until 2018, when it was sold a second time to Vertical Scope. A Canadian company that is known for creating and purchasing websites built around communities of specific topics or products. During the Action Online years there were several site administrators and many web staff. All of these people were from right here in the online G.I. Joe community. Action Online worked to monitze YoJoe in several various ways. That is the general overview of the history of YoJoe. Most people don’t seem to know that YoJoe has been part of a business for the last seventeen years. It was only a true fan site for a few short years. I am glad that we have had it for as long as we have. Can you imagine what it would have been like had it gone offline in 2004 or 2005? Quite possibly no 3DJoe.com. Think of all the people who have joined the community in the last fifteen years because YoJoe sparked something in them. Memories. Happiness. Imagination. It takes a lot of money for YoJoe to operate, so I am full support of monetizing it in some fashion. None of us could keep YoJoe going for very long without some sort of revenue. Even Carson monetizes 3DJoes. Since 1998, the various web staff members and administrators have been compensated very little. So little in fact I would consider all of their time volunteer. Only a few people truly understand what it takes to build a site of this magnitude, to add new content, and update content daily. It was not built in a day, but over the course of the last twenty-three years and an incalculable number of multiple man hours. If you have read this far then I will share my opinion about YoJoe’s fate. I do not believe that the future of YoJoe is uncertain, as some would like you to believe. I believe it will still be around for quite some time. If I am wrong, then another web site will be created and a new archive born. Please though, continue to show support for YoJoe.com. That can only help. Thank you for your time.

Will the existing content continue to be hosted in its current state? Perhaps. Will the site ever be regularly updated with fresh content again? Probably not until VerticalScope sells it.

Seems like Stinson decided he'd rather make money off of fans than contribute to fandom.
