Likke I have stated many times in many threads, these things are not that expensive. If you are in a finacial state where you have to 2nd guess a 20 or 30 dollar purchase or have the need to return or sell such items, you shouldnt have been buying them in the 1st place.
I think a little more goes into the decision to spend the money. SOme people wonder if it's worth it. I like alot of the Joe stuff out now but im not spending money on it cause its really not worth it to me. I dont need it just to sit around. Now if i want it and I think its a good investment then i'll get it. There's a difference between buying just to buy and buying becasue you want to. |

Everyone here has the right idea.
I usually pick up extra gigs whenever I can, and honestly, my customs/art pay for my Joe collection. But even then, I have to budget and show self control. For a while there I was losing control, trying to get EVERYTHING, and it started to hurt financially. So I decided to back up, and get only the things that I REALLY want. Also selling your extras is a great way to go. Buying loose is great too. I wanted Hard Master, but there was no way in hell I was going to pay for another Storm Shadow repaint. I was lucky enough to score one complete loose from another tanker. I was lucky to find the Python Conquests during that $5 fiasco. I only wanted one jet, but wanted to army build the Vipers. I sold all my jets, and pretty much got the Vipers free. Also get trade bait if you see it. I can't stand Hot Wheels, but I know to grab a Super Trea$ure Hunt car when I see it.

Buyers remorse... I feel it often. $200 a month and I spend it on what I want versus how I used to spend it. That being, on everything. Now I collect only the particular figures I want to have and avoid starting new collections that I will ultimately not want. All 25th/Classic/Modern Joes I will get. ROC I will avoid. It's not easy since I also collect Sideshow, Hot Toys and Star Wars figures with a splash of DC Universe and Marvel Legends in there, but the time between waves and my cherry picking allow me to plan ahead of time and stay relatively close to my budget. Every now and again I go over, but then I subtract from the following months allowance which usually keeps me in the black. Occasionally there is no avoiding going over, but since I'm generally good about it, my wife doesn't get too pissed about it.

i have an amazing job. I'm a photographer, and when ever i feel like it, i do a shift a week or so at a survey call canter. I do weddings and commercial photography, and make an average of $85/ hour when i do work. i am 100% debt free, and only need to worry about my rent, cell phone, and since i'm self employed, my sales taxes and personal income tax. Everything else i make is purely mine. i live very comfortable, and very meager. i only buy what i truly want, not just because i can. I'm very minimalistic. i hate clutter. I don't own very much anymore. my TF collection is down to about 200 pieces and my joes are around 30 pieces. I'm all about travel, helping out my friends and enjoying life with no worry. In no way am i spending it all on toys. |

Alright your married and trying to pay bills. How you still buy the ones you want without breaking the bank and getting your wife ticked off with you? I bought some today but felt guilty after (could be a problem). I did leave paris pursuit baroness at the store though but did grab flash, eel, crimson viper, and elite viper. How you guys do it? thanks.
