Dont u guys wish they made O-ring figures? I know Im not the only one. I was so disapointed when they decided to release modern figures that were released like 3 times already in the past 10 years. would be nice to get a 1986 Cobra BAT or a 1984 Storm Shadow for less than $100 a pop. thats the only reason I was hoping for a true retro line! nothing against modern.

Not me. I dig o-ring for nostalgia's sake, but I prefer the newer stuff and the few old Joes I have are good enough for me. I totally get why people would be hopeful for new o-ring Joes and subsequently disappointed though.

I initially thought I'd be glad either way, but when it comes to o-ring, I've realized that I'm fine just continuing to buy the originals. Due to the age, I've somehow tricked myself into feeling the cost is justified.
On the other hand, I feel like I'm shooting myself in the foot every time I pay what the current prices are for Joes that are only 5 years old. Of course, I'm still doing it, but it bothers me a lot more. I also think the fact that they're modern lends credit to the idea that 4" Joe may be back for awhile, and not just a one-off.

I prefer the new style. When I see them next to O-ring, the O rings look cartoonish and disproportionate in size. sort of like original kenner star wars.

*Insert disclaimer about being interested in vehicles over figures here*
O-rings are cool and all, but the modern figures standing up to modern aesthetics means that they can expand the line so much more than if they stuck to the old o-ring style. They can do new designs, they can tie into new movies or shows, all that good stuff. I think it lets them more easily state that they're making a return to form instead of dwelling in the past, and that lets them move forward to create new characters and figures and vehicles. It says "this form factor works" instead of "hey, remember these?" and that idea has a lot more potential. Of course, they could end up doing nothing but re-releases and prove me totally wrong.

I would have been fine either way but I'm glad they went the modern route.

unfortunately I'm allergic to the modern era plastic so I can only enjoy the figures for about twenty minutes before I start sneezing uncontrollably. So I prefer o-rings because I can play with them for hours without sneezing.

I was really rooting against o-rings just so there might be some things I could buy (an updated Scarlett, a new Duke, etc.). I'm sorry for the people that wanted o-rings, but what they released works out a lot better for me.

Unfortunately for you, any new o-ring figures would likely contain at least some of that modern era plastic. You're kinda forced into only really enjoying the vintage stuff.

Oh darn. Are you sure it's the plastic itself and not a mold release that could be washed off?
