The Glory days. When not only were Joes everywhere, but so where every other "Cool 80's boy toys"....the days where you could find all the latest Transformers, Joes, Star Wars, etc....all on the same trip! |

Plus, being smaller made the toy aisles seem huge. I can remember getting my dad to tell me what figures were on the top pegs.

I really wish at least half of that space was dedicated to GI joe now.

This brings tears to my eyes.
How I miss hitting toy stores with my parents! Pics like this bring back such fond memories of innocent times. The internet was years away and everything was a surprise. There was mystery - you never knew what would come next, what toys would show up in the aisle. I miss playing with friends and hearing stories about some other kid having certain unique figure or vehicle nobody else had. I miss it all. There's 2 options: buy a Delorean and customize your own flux capacitor ...or find a Zoltar machine in some theme park and ask to be a kid again in the 80s!

this picture reminds me of a store called TOYS & SPORTS WAREHOUSE, when i was a kid, back in the 80's. My brother, and friends had shortened the name to TSW. That store was the most amazing toy store i have ever been to, still to this day. There was an aisle dedicated to every brand. Gi joe had its own aisle, Star wars had it's own aisle, He-man had it's own aisle and so on. I wish i could go back. another place that i used to buy my joes from was, service merchandise. after tax, each joe came up to 3.00 on the nose. those were the days
