Star Wars Battlefront 2 is pretty much just a 3rd person Call of Duty, with many of te same game modes and the same quick play feature. Where GI Joe could excel as a game is not through multiplayer, but for an in depth story mode (with the standard 3rd/1st person shooter mechanics) based off of the Marvel comics.
Another thing that could work better is GI Joe colabs with existing games, almost like how Fortnite has had colabs with Star Wars, Stranger Things, Infinity War and Endgame, Marshmello, Nike, Major Lazer, Deadpool and the X-Force, and Travis Scott A collaboration would also work well. But I would think that would be less permanent, and be mostly a tool to create hype. Which gives me the idea that we may infect see a GI Joe x Fortnite crossover to promote the Snake Eyes movie later this year. Quote:
If they did a GI JOE game, it better be violent and not cartoon BS. It’s needs body counts, vicious representation of cobra, IG , CG. Dark.
Joes doesn’t need to go COD route. Joes needs to go Rainbow Six route . Throughout different eras of war. Vietnam, Cold War, Iraq. Quote:
You pretty well summed my opinion up entirely, I've been saying the same for a while now. I'd also add that they should go the route of doing one of those 8-16 bit homage style games in the vein of Contra to pull at the nostalgia heart strings as well. Not as a main offering, because kids will get tired of that quickly, but as a companion, just as a way to get us non-modern gamers on board.

While I hate EA, I think one of their studios would be the best. They made Star Wars Battlefront, and Battlefield, as well as making the RoC GI Joe games. Activision on the other hand I am not too familiar with. I know they are involved with CoD, so I don't know if they would have the expertise needed to create a GI Joe game.

LJN was a joke man. I don't know if they're still around, but in the old days they were notorious for making bad licensed titles.
I'm pretty out of touch with what developers and publishers are worth their salt these days. Capcom and Konami used to be the best, but Capcom is now a money hungry giant, and so is Konami, but they're also lazy to boot. |

The issue I see is that video games are not cheap to make. GOOD video games are even not cheaper. Star Wars and Transformers had a lot more going for them to entice money to be thrown that way. I'm not sure they are at that point with Joe yet where they feel comfortable being able to sell enough to make the return on investment.

I would say you need an FPS perspective to properly immerse the player in the experience. I played the MW trilogy of CoD games as well as the first 2 WW2 games. Being in the FPS perspective really sells the cinematic moments for me - shite like running to make the jump onto the helo at the end of Crew Expendable or the jump on to the rope-ladder off the Pave Low in The Hornet's Nest, the death scenes of Loose Ends, Shock and Awe, No Russian or the sheer panic and terror of one of those effing Alsatians trying to rip yer throat out.
I fully agree that multiplayer would also be a must, *with* playable vehicles not just CoD-style kill-streak rewards. I know it may not be realistic, but it'd be Sunbow-authentic to allow me to run'n'gun with my M16 against Cobra troopers, then climb into a Dragonfly and strafe more of them before I bail out, leap into a Skystriker and shoot down some Rattlers! The game would need to be blend of the better story-modes of Call of Duty and the easy run'n'gun/ shoot'n'scoot of the Novalogic Delta Force Xtreme games or Joint Task Force. I'd say something like Battlefield 2, but I never played those games. I'd probably say the MP mode should also be class-based like Return to Castle Wolfenstein was so you can access certain weapons in certain classes and have characters in those classes like Stalker/Grunt/Beach Head/Footloose/Recoil in a basic infantry grunt class, Rock'n'Roll/Roadblock/Big Ben/Repeater in a gunner class with MGs and Bazooka/Salvo/Fast-Draw/Zap in a rocket launcher class. Yes, I have thought about this a lot, why do you ask? |

I'm not a big gamer (the last 2 games I played were Age of Empires: Def. Edition, and Axis and Allies: Iron Blitz) but can they make a game and cartoon where the animation looks like the figures themselves? Sort of like how Robot Chicken does it? I think it would be cool for kids and fans to see their actual figures in action.

I'd rather see a Warhammer 40k version of G.I.Joe. Be nice to kill a Joe with a viper of some sort.
