I voted duke
those demonstrated better leadership skills: 1-Duke because he is the best of the team 2-Hawk because he has a strong will 3- personal opinion Beachhead because he is ressourceful & practical Last edited by optimusred6; 07-28-2009 at 01:09 PM.. |

While Hawk stormed in like a raging inferno in the second season, his arrogant and overall 'dicky' behavior lost him points for me...
Being a leader doesn't necessarily mean being an jerk all the time, but Hawk seemed to think so. ...Flint just got on my nerves, and I can't recall him leading anything other then Lady Jay to his bedroom. While duke, clean-cut and a good hearted commander, despite occasional dopiness. 'sides, once the dic series took over Hawk was made out as an utter incompetent moron barely capable of standing without tripping. |

Flint is my favorite but I picked Duke.
Flint is cool but comes across like a cocky, glory hound that will knock your teeth out if you dare say hello to Lady Jaye. As long as you let him take the credit he'll be a nice guy. Hawk must of have a small dick. I felt he was always throwing his weight around in the comics. I like his cartoon version better. Duke both in the cartoon and comic (more so in the comic) could be mean but I always got the feeling it was tough love. |

DUKE, he was also the first jo figure I ever recieved, my grandma bought me him at the Bay.
i also say duke bc he was the one i remmber the most from when i was a kid and had my intial adventures with my joes, i would over fill the bark mulch planter and it was battle on bark mulch island. Often I would even switch the alegiances of many of the joes, sometimes destro as in the cartoon played both sides, okay now im getting way of topic here. |

Hawk was a better leader all around in every joe medium. In the comic, he was a no nonsense type of character and fought right along with the joes. In the cartoon he was the same.
Duke was cool but face it, the guy got caught in every story arc in the cartoon. And he was more of a poster boy in the comic book for me then anything else... |

I agree with others here that in different mediums the characters were portrayed more/differently/variable thus it would be a difficult question ti answer.
On bias, I vote Duke though in honesty I think that Duke and Hawk were similar in their tough as nails approach. Flint is like the everyman and thus the weakest link here. Not that he is incapable but more it takes a guy who leads by example but isn't one of the guys, Sure, it seems like a guy you can relate to would be a good leader but in the end you'll lose respect for him.

Duke was always the one who I thought of as the leader.
