Upset the Night Raven got smaller and tires don't turn? Your going to dig this. Especially our Skystriker fans who love their F14. JSI's huge new F14 will sport real nice hands-on features you can see and feel. Rubber tires and wheels that turn and even bounce on a working Spring-Suspension! Britt Dietz from Small Scale HQ found this out at San Diego's Comic Con. You will need a hanky or a box of tissue when you read what Dietz's wrote. I wanted to cry just reading it. No gimmicks, just real cool big jets with lots of hands-on details you can play, and the rest left to the imagination. Your going to cry just thinking about what Joe product could and still should have been. Maybe in the future?
Small Scale Military Headquarters :: View topic - San Diego Comic Con 2009 - F14 Is here!! F-14 IS HERE!!! Oh my goodness so so much to write... I had a LONG discussion with the guys at the booth! F-14 UPDATE ---------------------- They had the same prototype as the weekend of heros (I think?) show. Man is this F-14 BIG, and I mean HUGE HUGE big. LANDING GEAR - So, I got to see the landing gear, and they had a special version of what it will look like since the prototype's gear is broken. They have SPRING suspension and do indeed retract into the aircraft, and have locking pieces that make sure they don't collapse when extended. It looks amazing, especially the spring suspension!!! RADAR DISH - That's right, the nose flips up to reveal the radar dome!! COCKPIT - So amazingly detailed, it's really awesome to see. NO removable ejector seats, though they said in all future models it'll be there. SPEED BRAKE - The speed brake flap near the tail flips up, but the design isn't finalized yet so it doesn't stay up at the moment. OPENING PANELS - Yup, certain panels on the right side flip down, and when they are flipped up you can barely even tell they are there. The main guy I spoke to said he didn't even realized they opened till he tilted the plane and they flipped open! RELEASE DATE - He is thinking October this year. He seemed pretty sure. The SU-27 and F-15 are next year, late. SU-27 will be first. LITTLE DETAILS - Even the pitot tubes are there, and in perfect detail! The aircraft is amazing with detail, even in all grey scheme!! PRICE - He's thinking about $230 or around that. PAINT SCHEME - He had just seen the finished paint scheme and said it looked amazing, and WILL have BBI's style signature weathering!! BAD NEWS - No rudder, Aileron, or flap movement. But the wings do move. F-22 - They're pushing for an F-22 to go with the SU-27... ------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------ So that's my report for now. Photos when I can get a chance!! Last edited by Tuskegee Joe; 07-23-2009 at 05:17 PM.. Reason: editing |

Do they use ABS on the wheels also?
Awesome. JSI, unlike Hasclown, will not let us down. |

I am pretty sure that Hasbro isn't letting anybody down, because these planes are only about 10x more than the Rattler or Conquest, and about 5x more than the Night Raven. Maybe I am alone in thinking that paying $230 for a toy is a bit much.

its expesive, but worth every penny if its the Jolly Rogers scheme they are going with, probably the centerpiece of the collection. Top Gun and all..

you're right on the price, but if you look at a different perspective this jet is 10x better than the new Night Raven that Hasbro released and only 6x more for the price. I think it is a great deal. This is just my personal opinion.

I understand, but I personally wouldn't shell out that kind of green unless the thing not only flew, but actually fired it weapons Just way too rich for my blood, especially for my kids.
