My wife and I watched the MLP Toys That Made Us episide tonight, and I was surprised to learn that Doc was sculpted to resemble another Hasbro designer at the time. I knew about many of the others (Hama/Tunnel Rat, Bozegian/Law), but this was the first time I’d learned about Doc. I spent a little time trying to find this info on the web but found no sites that talked about this.
Was this common knowledge, or is this new information to the community? If the latter, I wonder what other figures out there were based on Hasbro employees. |

There are ALOT of Joes whose head sculpts or file names (and sometimes both) are based on Hasbro, Sunbow, DIC and Griffin-Bacal employees.
I think it's fairly well known in the community, at least from my perspective. At various times we've discussed it in the 'What Secrets Lurk in the Filecards" thread and it's covered quite extensively on Joe Declassified, Joe Intel (I don't think that site exists anymore though) and Dan Klingensmith's book series (a real must for any collector) and Mark Bellomo's book too. I have seen instances of it on Yojoe (mostly the ones everyone knows) and Joepedia - Depending on particular characters - look in the trivia section https://gijoe.fandom.com/wiki/Super_Trooper I have a whole folder on this stuff on one of my hard drives, but due to the fires we're having in Australia, they're not handy right now but I do have these images on my laptop. I found these images through google a long time ago. They may have been scans from a toy magazine in the 90's. Full Credit to the original owners / posters Hope it helps |

Thanks for posting those man, the easter eggs in the Joe line was always something that fascinated me. In particular, the King connection with Crystal Ball and Sneak Peak blew me away once I learned about it.
I will say, Tom Hamilton kinda got the short end of the stick! |
