Dude, I have thought that exact same idea since the first images of the ROC figures started to appear. They are doing that with vehicles, why not the figures......and I don't mean the figures that just come with the vehicles. I'm all for updating the characters to fit the movie universe, but it would be nice ( better) to have them in their original style as well.

I think some people forget this little thing called the future. If the movie and the new toy line are successful than the skies the limit. I'm confident that everyone will see their favorite version of their favorite character eventually, just give it time.

You answered your question. And the thing about it is fan desire is oddly what pays the bills. No one is saying they shouldn't have made these new costumes.

No one complains about a new look for snake eyes with green pants, steeler with tan outfit, etc because we already got the classic versions of those characters.
I agree that almost ALL the complaining would be gone if they released classic versions of those characters first, or at least promised a classic version soon. |

It's not fan desire that pays the bills. It's fan purchases. Purchases on a large, mass-market scale. Not from a small group of people on one G.I. Joe-dedicated website.

as a fan I don't think I would purchase something I didn't desire.

That's not the point. The point is that there's a far larger market than the people on the message board out there. A market that retailers and Hasbro desire to capture far, far more than a bunch of grown ups who still play with/collect toys.
