Playful, do you ever worry that at some point, you may have been brainwashed?
I'm asking playfully, of course. |

This thread is really interesting. If maybe a little on the "patriotic" side.
At any rate, regarding something that hasn't been mentioned here ... the SpaceX Dragon. Is it in any way connected to Space Force? I know NASA was involved. And I recall the current occupant of the White House being at the launch. But I don't remember any specific mention of Space Force. I just remember the docking with the International Space Station looking really awesome. Also, was the Defiant popular in its day? (Fairly certain Star Brigade/Armor Tech weren't.) Since an enormous shuttle complex seems awfully clunky and expensive, and a poor fit with most of the other figures/vehicles available at the time. Plus Cobra needed a lot more than just the Stiletto and that little probe thing made from Pogo parts. DISCLAIMER: About the italics. Italics are used solely for emphasis and to create a more natural conversational tone. I swear there's not some sort of secret snarky double meaning.

Space Force is a cool concept but I feel it is a waste of money. We havnt had anyone on the moon in years and have not had a manned craft go past the moon ever. They said if a manned vessel went to mars right now it would be a one way trip. Why do we need to put the time and money into it? Seemed like what we were doing was working minus cutting funds to NASA.

No, I don’t worry about that at all actually. I have a clean bill of health, and clearly remember as they released me from the Brain Wave Scanner, they said my test went extremely well, and I’m A-okay. Quote:

The SpaceX Dragon is truly amazing, and the result of nearly two decades of NASA contracts with various companies to rapidly expand upon our aging space program for industrial, commercial, and scientific peaceful purposes. As you might remember, G.I. Joe used the Defiant and Crusader vehicles which were intended as the next generation of spacecraft, (the Lockheed Martin X-33 spaceplane was nearly a true to life version but was eventually cancelled due to expenses). Space Force uses a vehicle called the Boeing X-37B for its missions. Very secretive, but interesting. Check out this video.

I watched the 1st season of "Space Force" with Steve Carell. Even though it was a comedy, it really opened my eyes to why democratic countries need extra-terrestrial special forces units prepared immediately for launch or aboard space stations. The hijinks the (fictional) Chinese pulled were worthy of Cobra!

Long live Space Force! When you mentioned Chinese hijinks worthy of Cobra, you piqued my interest. ![]()

Maybe I should try watching that sometime. I never gave that comedy series a chance (or watched a single episode), because I just thought it was going to be a preachy argument against military involvement in space, or attempt to portray our military as buffoons.

Secretary of the Air Force Public Affairs:
Today, after a yearlong process that produced hundreds of submissions and research involving space professionals and members of the general public, we can finally share with you the name by which we will be known: Guardians. The opportunity to name a force is a momentous responsibility. Guardians is a name with a long history in space operations, tracing back to the original command motto of Air Force Space Command in 1983, “Guardians of the High Frontier.” The name Guardians connects our proud heritage and culture to the important mission we execute 24/7, protecting the people and interest of the U.S. and its allies. Guardians. Semper Supra! https://www.spaceforce.mil/News/Arti...professionals/
