I'll always love O-rings best, because that's where I came from. That aside, I'd be an idiot not to agree that they don't look as good- Hell, they don't even look as good as 25th. That's progress, if they didn't, something would be very wrong...
BUT! due to the softer plastic, modern figures are very, very annoying to "gear up". especially when they come with gear not specifically designed for the specific figure. Also, the added points of articulation aren't very worthwhile if they're semi loose right off of the card. To me, moderns look amazing, but aren't as well designed as they could be. Now, what's odd, is that despite how hideous they looked, and the fact that they sometimes used the softer plastics, that's generally not an issue with the "new sculpts"; their hands were designed to properly hold accessories, and the joints seem to have aged well. They're ugly, and I sure don't want them, but at least they were practical. Pros and cons to everything. Regardless of how folks feel I think it is great that you can own all types of Joes to have great action figures and great toys, which is why I collect both types. |

Put out some proper o-ring, old-school releases/re-releases and you may at least get a bit of attention from YouTube etc. I doubt either will generate significant money, but my guess would be that "old" would generate more clicks.
Somehow, I can't see Snake Eyes v277 "action figures" (read: statues) are going to excite anyone. |
