... unless you want to pay a premium for it. I'd be fine with lower quality plastics, if they were reflected in the cost of the product, and didn't cause much loss of function and detail. Unfortunately, that's wishful thinking at it's finest.

For sure. If they do use the better resources of course we'll see an increase in the price. But can't some parts of a figure be sacrificed with the cheaper plastic that won't compromise function and detail? Say, use the cheaper plastic on the torso and head but use a better quality plastic on the arms, legs, and hands.

I'm not 100 on that without digging out the few I have, but I know that the biggest issues I have with the moderns is equipping (on goes the helmet, rifle falls off, pick up and add rifle, there goes the damned helmet, repeat x∞ ), followed by knees, hips and ankles that are far to loose to pose properly. They'll hold a pose, just not stay standing properly... and while I'm adjusting joints to accommodate, the accessories are falling off the whole time. It's made for some frustrating photo sessions, and usually I'll just settle for whatever I can get.
That being said, I DO like the added detail and POA a lot, just needs to hopefully be dialed in a bit more. I think the issues in the joints are more in regards to the connections themselves, e.g. the pins and holes, and also inconsistent design. Using my personal toy box as an example, the modern Night Viper is pretty good. Some looseness, but it makes up for it by having a well designed arsenal that was at least 90% built around the figure, or vice versa. Not so much with the 50th viper. Sloppy joints, and aside from the standard old school viper gear, none of that stuff works well, and is really just kibble. I was bummed out, too, because by all appearances, this should have been the definitive version. Of course, the 25th figures are even more nightmarish.

I have had no problems at all with accessories staying on modern figures or with the figures not holding their weapons well. Because I live in the Midwest, the figures stay solid due to the colder climate, whereas for Staninjaku, he lives in a warm area so his figures heat up and become pliable, and thus their stuff doesn’t stay on.

I remember distincly one summer in 91 or 92, leaving the v2 sci-fi ( yes, I know, very specific) out back while I went in to have lunch- came back out to find that his hands were malleable, which I considered a bonus for the afternoon. The local climate is absolute death on O-rings though, the extreme fluctuation breaks them down super quick, and I need to replace them every 3-6 months. Made having had them displayed in a dio pretty annoying. Now that you mention that, I think I'm going to try "freezer time" before the next photo op....

Every 3-6 months? Dude! I’ve never had to replace an o ring ever and I’ve had o rings for over 9 years now.
