i've got plenty of troopers i pass em up now when i see em. i think its wack that they are re-releasing figs in new cases....it kind of makes me less interested. don't get me wrong there awesome. but they would be worth something if they released one wave and like art destroy the lithograph molding,..than they would be hot....but u see they can reproduce this stuff whenever they feel like it....kinda lame. destroys the special edition feel to it. what do you think???? i sure as hell ain't going to chase stuff anymore either if its hot or not...they'll make more of it!!!

Nope. The more worthless these things are the better as far as I'm concerned. I'd be more happy to find everything I want without paying a fortune for it than to maybe have something that's worth a few hundred bucks in 20 years.
So go ahead Hasbro....flood the market already!! |

I would much rather be able to find these things more easily. Lots of figures would make me happy.
With that said, I do like have to occasional rarer figure, just to make me feel good for having it (not for future value). I certainly do not want that to be the norm.

I agree with the others. I collect them for myself and my total interest in G.I. Joe since a kid. I don't collect them for a monitary value. I wouldn't be buying this line thinking it's going to make you rich. Collecting toys of the modern age won't pad your wallet and bank account.
Hasbro never said that was the intention of this line either. They need to get new collectors/kids into the line so it can continue. You can't do that by releasing a figure once and hope that everyone that wants one (or two or three) gets one. Not a good business strategy then. |

I always figured, if they flood the market with them then lots will be opened up, played with and eventualy destroyed, leaving less in 20 years. Whereas the ones that are deemed scarce and valuable the day they are put on the street will be plentiful in 20 years, since they would have been defended against atrition by the dudes paying top-dollar for them today.
