I'm a huge buff of technology from the 19th century ,where the industrial revolution started with so many great inventions we take for granted today .
So i was thinking of taking Gi Joe to another alternate time period far away from what we are used to ,i've been kind of playing around with the idea of having Gi Joe in the the 19th century around 1889 ,the story i've been creating is that Destro supplied weapons to the south during the American civil war ,and is backing various civil wars and independence movements all over the world in order to destabilize global power ,especially with the European colonial powers such as England ,France ,Spain in order to achieve global domination by backing various "Cobra friendly" puppet governments and increase their sphere of influence and trade ,US president Benjamin Harrison develops a secret squad of elite soldiers to prevent Cobra and Destro from trying to start a new civil war that will tear the Unites States apart and to help their allies with the similar threat . I know it's not entirely original and the name "Gi" wasn't coined until WW2 ,but i thought it might be kind of neat to design some of the more iconic characters of how they would look in the 19th century ,i was thinking of adding a few steampunk influences to make it interesting ? I don't know if my concept sounds silly ,but i'm going to give it a try and see what i'll come up with ? |

Thanks for the positive feedback ,it's gets me more motivated to see it through ,i'm not the best at coming up with stories but i based it from the history of that time period ,and put my spin on it ?
I'm going to come up with a few concept sketches of what Destro ,Snake eyes ,Duke ,Cobra Commander and the Baroness would look like it during that time .I am going to look at the fashion ,hairstyles ,facial hair ,weapons ,etc and use that to get some ideas going ? I was thinking of re-designing the Cobra logo a little bit to give it more a Victorian era feel ,like having the Cobra snake wrapped in a coil with it's tongue sticking out ,similar to the snake seen on the pharmacists logo . I'll post my sketches once i've got something on paper ,getting my ideas from my head to paper is the challenge ! |

Maybe you can make Zartan be the son of a Barbary Pirate. So the Dreadnoks would have a pronounced pirate influence.

>>>>>>>>>>>> Zartan as a pirate sounds like a interesting concept ,but i don't want to steal anyone else's ideas ,i was thinking he would be an actor who can use various disguises with 19th century make up and wigs ..with a few screws loose ;) |
