A recent thread on the forum lead some of us Tankers to discuss GI Joe and Fortnite. Some of the Fortnite characters look very similar to GI Joe. With an official Infinity War crossover event scheduled for Fortnite, do you think it would be a good idea if GI Joe had a Fortnite crossover?

Yup. It is crazy popular right now. Many of the skins have a GI Joe feel to them. With Fortnite now opening its doors to licensed skins/events, maybe a GI Joe skin set would be a nice way to bring the franchise to the forefront again, similar to how the Toy Soldiers game had GI Joe skins/dlc.

This seems like a no brainer. I said the same thing about rainbow six siege, and many other games. If you do actually want to attract attention from kids, video games is where it's at.

Exactly. And kids want to get merchandise of games they like (example: Minecraft) so if you make a crossover with some game or something and then release merchandise, they will go "Oh, I know this! These guys are cool!" and buy them.

A Fortnite GIJoe Theme would be awesome. I think a lot of the game is GIJoe is disguise anyway:

1) It takes place on an island. Simply redo a few locations - add a couple Terror Dromes, A Grounded Freighter, and a Castle - and you have COBRA ISLAND.

2) With the 50 vs 50 mode - you could easily have 50 Joe players vs 50 Cobra players.

3) Trouble Bubble, Cobra CLAW, or POGO would be perfect Gliders.

4) Get some vehicles involved! How cool would it be to see (and use) a HISS Tank, or the AWE Striker.

5) Crossover and make action figures that match the Fortnite Skins - not just the GIJoe Fortnite Skins. My son loves some of the goofiest characters in the game.

If they did liscense Joe I would actually download the game and try it. My 6 and 4 year old love the GI Joe licensed Toy Soldiers game, they play it daily.

I’d imagine that it would expose Fortnite to us in middle age market, and would be worth it to the developers to research it. Hasbro let Ubisoft use Joe for Toy Soldiers, and it is basically just shoot everything kind of game, granted they are toys that are getting mowed down. Plus the game was relatively inexpensive when I bought it, so the liscense fee couldn’t have been very outrageous as it also had He Man as well.

Wish I had this game so I could see what other GI Joe characters I could make, particularly Shockwave.
