In my mind the JOEs are set perpetually in an alternate 1995-96 continuity. Just as in the Marvel Universe, the technology is a lot more advanced for the times due to super-geniuses and Cobra's acquisition of experimental technology.

I think a full bird Colonel starts typically in the 45 years old age range. So, Hawk was roughly 50 when he became a Brigadier General, I'm assuming. I used to think that was old, but I'm now 50 and I still have all my hair color, so Hawk having brown hair at 50 isn't as big a stretch as I thought as a kid! Ha! |

not to get oo far off topic, but aging is a huge surprise. not like i didn't think i'd get here, but i don't feel 47. still feel like i'm 35. weird.
