I wouldn't be a Joe. Take a guess who I'd be.

i was never into tiger force as a kid. i tried. i had bazooka and the tiger sting. tried to make it work but the colors just werent "military" to me. weird thing is i wonder who came up with the concept. if it was larry i'd be shocked giving his knowledge of the military. if it was hasbro i can see their blindness to the facts.
years later into my adult hood i was doing some military research and came across several articles about the real tiger force from Nam. if any of you are not familiar with it google it and see what you think. its interesting and kinda disturbing at the same time. |

With Loose Cannon as my name, I would be in the Rear with the Gear. There isn't quite an official Artillery team. Maybe a General, Rolling Thunder, MMC, crewmember or Commander.
I never cared for the Sub Teams, but it was a great way to recycle figures. As a Cobra. RANGE-VIPERS or Skull Squad.

Wolf Squad. With so much recent disdain for this sub-team it just seemed natural for me to be part of a group that everyone loves to hate.

I don't mean to brag, but I enlisted when I was young (like 9) and served as a pilot in the Steel Brigade as Wolverine.

I'd be on the Tiger Force, because it's funny to troll Cobra by stealing their vehicles and painting them stupid.

Thanks for being the icebreaker, I enlisted at 12 in 1987, code name Maverick, (no that not me in BF2000, after I left the joes in 1993, they reused my code name...stupid copyright laws), in the Steel Brigade as a Commando. My CO was Snake Eyes.

As for the 'Nam era Tiger Force, yeah, grim. I'm actually not surprised that it happened. By the late 60's the recruiting/training machine was turning out some pretty sub-par content, so the combo of conditions, poorly-selected/screened troops and weak leadership seems ripe for such atrocities. I'm more surprised, though maybe I shouldn't be, that to this day there seems little interest in investigating the issue. My Lai, Phoenix and Project Gamma all drew more comprehensive investigations. You'd like to think such a thing couldn't happen today, but . . . https://theintercept.com/2017/01/10/...f-seal-team-6/, with pseudo-confirmation (from a site to always take with a grain of salt) https://sofrep.com/72126/military-le...ix-war-crimes/ |
