I would have to argue that point, alot of pop culture characters have made come backs, it's the phone game they can't compete with when people play candy crush and FarmVille, age of whatever it is. However a console game done properly and correctly would pull in younger fans as they would be curious as it is a new adventure shooter game, they would see dad, uncle or big brother play it or hear / read about it and check it out, again if done properly. which the ROC was NOT!!! my son is a gamer and loves Joes and when that game came out he was young enough to enjoy the toys and games and I thought it would be cool,.. he played it once and left it,... however he played the hell out of mercenarys at that time and he actually would make his characters look as close to Joes as possible, same with his COD characters,...so that gave us an idea that we put into motion last year. He is currently in college getting his bachelors degree major in computer graphics web design, and a minor in comic book art, which uses the same photoshop software as game character design. So he and I have been sitting down and creating a joe game that is an amalgamation of COD, mercenarys, Star Wars battle fronts, and a touch of Medal of Honor. In a nut shell you have missions, that open up specific joe/ Cobra characters and vehicles pertaining to that environmental mission, then Once completed that character ( which have their unique skills, example Zartan has his master of desguise skills, Snake eyes and storm shadow are of course ninjas, so on and so forth) is opened up so you can play as them in further operations. It has the format where you start the mission in 3rd person and an option to go to 1st person. You can play as Joe or Cobra, starting the game as a Cobra Officer or a Steel Brigade soldier, and as you complete missions you gain time in service and rank, as well as when you play as a unlocked specific character ( i.e. Snake Eye, Flint, Zartan, Firefly etc, etc ) you keep those awards and apply them toward your personal military file, once you attain enough campaign rewards you can then create yourself as your own Joe or Cobra and continue playing to finish an the game and still go back and play competed missions again as your joe character. We have it all laid out on paper, sketches drawings, formats everything,..but like a few have said, it would take major bank to create such a detailed high level format, but if was done like this and done with the graphics that it deserved it would be successful with all generations of gamers.

This is logically unsound. Most video games do not have tie-ins to any pre-existing media property. They stand on their own merits, and rely on marketing and *gasp* quality to make up that gap.
I know it's hard to imagine, but there was a time when things like 'Halo' and 'Assassin's Creed' did not exist. They came to us game-first, and succeeded on their own. If your argument is that Joe must be popular in order for a Joe game to exist, then by that same logic it should be impossible for any game to exist if it is not based on an popular franchise.
