Tank,
I don't ever recall reading that it is against the rules to garner support from fellow legitimate tankers. The members you addressed above are long standing legitimate tank members who post frequently. I don't see how you can not count these votes as authentic. Also, I almost never engage in any smack talk or character bashing in these threads--and some of us do that in a competitive, good-natured way--but I feel as if my playful attack on Koko encouraged you to recruit people to vote for him, which we discourage for reasons of fairness and keeping the results genuine even if the system is imperfect. I don't want to police the polls nor impose a tax or probation period because I feel as if we should all be able to abide by an honor code. In the past, there we're clearly some polls where friends were brought in to vote for a character and it just sours the process. This is for fun, and though I don't mind regular voters forming alliances or strategizing to help a nominee win, we should refrain from "buying" votes from non-participating friends. So I apologize if my Koko bashing seemed like a personal attack or anything. It was all in good jest but my point is that we should not interfere with the poll outcomes. Let the chips fall where they may. Quote:
We don't want the poll to become a contest to see how many buddies you can round up to vote for your character though. Problem is so many people are disinterested in the poll now that there are lots of people who will sell out their vote for a nickel.
Not sure how you solve it. A poll tax? Probation period where your vote doesn't count unless you've voted in 2 of the previous 5 polls?

Well I voted Koko but don't know whether all these votes or this poll is even going to count. If one Darkhawk is cancelled out, we might have a tie.

I'm not counting the second darkhawk vote for the obvious reasons. And yes, we don't have an explicit rule prohibiting the recruitment of others to vote for a character, but it was always understood that this goes against the spirit and authenticity of the polls because anyone of us can go and "buy" votes from his or her friends, which is not what these polls are about. (See JJ's post below.) It distorts the poll results. I could just as easily get seven or eight people to vote for Vance.

So I made your guy win and I didn't even get a single thank you? I guess I shouldn't "help" you bring rug rat or the ghost German fighter pilot across the finish line then.

Y'all fools best not be messing up my greatest Joes of all time poll! I've been in it for years, since poll #1 and survived a near death experience to get through 600 Joes. Koko and Land Adventurer have same ranking? Well, anyone wanna trade my MOC Land Adventurer for an MOC Koko?
