The idea that Action Force didn't count until some future release somehow "integrated" it is just unfathomable to me. Where is that represented in this poll's official rules anywhere? Baron Ironblood should be INELIGIBLE retroactively because Action Force turned him into Cobra Commander. So you can't have it both ways. Either he is ineligible because he started out separate from Joe, or he's ineligible because when integrated with Joe, he was reveealed to be the same as CC. For him to be eligible, you have to agree that a foreign Joe-related brand that didn't even use the same molds on his figure and didn't use the Joe name is eligible. Same situation as the Complan Commandos. Except those actually used the molds. Quote:

Again, irrelevant until something officially crosses them over. Hasbro's Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter used GI JOE molds and included very GI JOE like file cards, but don't qualify....oh, but you say they were characters from another source...another brand...but Complan is a brand, too.

Bulletman had a GIJoe Kreo. Mike Powers:Atomic Man should get some noms.
Baron Ironblood showed up in US comics as a separate guy from Cobra Commander. |

I wonder if somewhere in some bizzarre parallel world
there is a Masters of the Univers message board where they also have a greatest characters thread and are currently debating if Sun-man and the Sun People characters could be included. Mandela effect...

I didn't do much research on these figures but initially I didn't see how they were apart of the brand. Action Force was integrated into GI Joe so it's not analogous. As for other international figures, they are often characterized as existing in the same universe. Is there any mention of these Complan figures existing in the same universe as GI Joe? If so, then I'll allow it but personally don't care either way.

Mike Power won 120 polls ago.
What about other Action Force characters? Muton? Somehow I don't think we've cross-checked to make sure every one has appeared in a U.S. comic book. Clearly this poll has based their eligibility on the mere presence in the Action Force toy line. |

The comic books make clear connections between Action Force and GI Joe. I've been slowly reading through the old Action Force stuff.

Then by the rules that were applied to the Canadian JoeCon figures, older Action Force figures before the brand was "integrated" with G.I. Joe should not be eligible, unless they specifically appeared in the line after the integration. That was the standard applied to a line that started out ineligible but turned into eligible at a certain point in its run. I assumed these foreign lines were all eligible from the beginning of their creation but if that's not the case, determining eligibility of Action Force figures just got a lot more complicated.

Hasbro made it's own 12" GI JOE knock-offs in the 70's to compete with other rip-offs of GI JOE. The Defenders..12" and military but...NOT TECHNICALLY 12" GI JOE.
I agree that Baron Ironblood is not eligible. LOL. Unless there's an alternate take where he and Cobra Commander are separate people...is there? |

Muton is in the recent Hama issues.
Ironblood is distinguished from Cobra Commander near the end of the DDP run. |
