So I've been reading old Joe comics and in the recent one they killed Bazooka. Is there a running joke on killing him ? I feel like he's Kenny from South Park.
Any reason why he's always getting whacked even in fan fictions ? Are there any other Joe's that get the same treatment ?

Although not on the same level of "Abuse", I do recall back in the old ARAH comics when Ghostrider & the Phantom X19 were introduced. No one could remember GRs name or who he was, etc. Must suck to be the new guy in the motor pool over at the PITT.

I hate it when writers do things like this. Someone out there probably really likes Bazooka. Writers need to do new and different things with characters, not the same old, same old or running gags.

I can only speak for myself, but my feelings towards Bazooka are heavely influenced by the sunbow cartoon. He was portraid like a goof ball who loves fudgy bars.
It didnt help that his figure was just meh. Last edited by Rangeviper88; 01-18-2017 at 03:58 PM.. |

Also... Zap is the original "Bazooka specialist"
Bazooka is a "missle specialist"? But named Bazooka. Just seems silly. |

I don't remember who suggested this (so it may be apocryphal), but someone had suggested that the Ghost Rider thing had to do with Marvel having the rights to that character's name.

Yes, Hama said he wasn't around when GR was named, otherwise he would have told Hasbro to use something else.

I wrote a fan fic in 2002 in which I killed off Bazooka. I felt he was a big enough character that his death would gave some impact but not important enough the Joes could get by without him. Looks like I started something which is weird since only one person has ever read my work.
