Why does anyone with a CC not buy from the internet? I see people asking about this store or that store on a ton of websites. However, it seems to be a lot of work traveling when all you need to do is buy from BBTS. I buy three of everything and 10 of every troop builder. I could never do this going to TRu, Walmart, Target. However, BBTS makes it so easy. So, why doesnt everyone do this?

It's actually cheaper for me to buy them at the stores. I normally only hunt 2 times a week now. I know, you save gas and time by buying them online, but it's more of the thrill of the hunt for me. And you can army build without resorting to the online route as well. You just have to be persistent and lucky. I bought about 90% of my joes from stores. I'm close to 160+ figures so far.
Online stores like BBTS can be a hit or miss sometimes as well. You just have to be there at the right time and place. |

It's cheaper at reatail for me. I have 7 WM's, 4 Targets, 3 K-Mart's and a TRU all within a 10 mile radius. And the Joes have been plentiful, thank god. So I've been able get most of what I wanted except wave 4, that a board member hooked me up with, but I finally saw that wave, today at 2 of the 4 Targets. But if I didn't have that, as a lot of people don't see the fig's as regularly as I do, online purchases would be the way to go.

For me at least, there is nothing, and I mean *nothing* like walking into a store and finding a new figure. *Getting* a new figure from somone like BBTS is cool and all, but you know what you're getting and when you're getting it. However, walking into a store, you never know if there's going to be something new when you turn that corner into the toy isle. It's the reason a lot of us collect.

It's all just about personal preference, really. I probably could find figures at retail...if I spent every spare moment driving to Wal-Mart, Target, or TRU.
But since I much prefer to do things like work out, watch movies, spend time with my wife, read, paint, cook, and work on my thesis...I'd MUCH rather pay the money on shipping and wait on the sure thing than spend every spare evening pushing my way through the slack-jawed mouth-breathers at Wal-Mart. Not saying anyone on here is any of those folks, but in my area, that's what I'd have to do to get figures at retail price. Then once you figure in the cost of gas...I'm probably breaking even on money and I'm definitely ahead of the game on time.

I use to be obsessed about hunting everyday but I finally figured it out after awhile that I was having more success on certain days then everyday. I hated coming home empty handed and disappointed, So that's why I cut down to 2 days of hunting. So you don't have to hunt everyday to find stuff, If you know your stores stocking schedule.

I usually try to find figures at retail before ordering online, so I don't have to pay shipping.
That said, I have no problem ordering online if I absolutely cannot find a certain figure, or I'm tired of wasting gas. |
