At this point, I don't really care what it is. The fact that the club not only rehashed a con set, but also switched formats to 25th style just took the wind out of my sails. For many of us who have come to depend on the club as the last bastion of RAH style, this is a pretty sad time.

These a very slight possibility they will be those versions, but I'd bank on them being the "out of production" first versions of Baroness and Viper

I'm sorry you're disappointed with the fact that they're not ARAH style this year, but having missed the first Crimson Set, I'm excited about the modern era release of em'. Even though the ARAH style holds a special place in my heart, the modern era style is just overall superior IMO.
One thing I do know is that they are not going to be straight up repaints of the Vipers, which can only be a good thing in my book. If the club is able to pull a rabbit out of a hat and actually do some decent frankensteining with these, it will instill a little bit more hope in them.

Maybe we can get a Manleh or a couple of other members from the argen 7. Or maybe they'll frankenstien some joes to make up more members from the oktober guard, endless possibilities. Guess i'll have to get there early.

I am going to save money this year on the set itself. I tend to like the souveniers more than the sets themselves. I have no interest in a rehashed convention set though.
I have almost all the convention exclusives. For some reason, that's one of the "sub sets" that I really dig in my collection and are some of the focal points. The last few years though I have been waiting to pick stuff up. It sometimes pays off, but not all the time. I just picked up the Ferret two packs from a fellow collector in a trade for ALOT less than the $35 they sold for AND I got two each. Then my son went and broke one of the large cannons for them when he snapped the pegs off. Oh well. Again, if I am patient, I am sure someone will trade for it. For some reason they were not very popular. |
