The HAVOC vehicle was always dumb to me.
Let's look at the facts... The whole front end was a giant windshield offering no protection of you were discovered during recon The gunners laid down with the crown of there head exposed by the wind shield. The driver Sat a the top of the damn thing with no protection whatsoever.like who designed that thing a cobra double agent Quote:

Hey, when they fought the forces of Cobra-la with it, none of that mattered. When Nemesis Enforcer pulled Snow Job out of a HAVOC and kicked his ass by throwing him a good three feet, he didn't go through the windshield, did he? Nope. He had to go through the floor. Cause that windshield is impenetrable.
Seriously though, the HAVOC has some issues. No idea why the missiles were pointing backwards. Quote:
I actually would like to get one and paint the windshield to look like part of the body and leave two little slits for windows. Make some armor for the guy up top, then take out that ridicules flying seat in the back and maybe just put a 4 wheeler back there. Quote:

Cobra La and BF2000/Star Brigade. While both cool in their own right, they were executed horribly. As many have said before CL should have been aliens then they could have integrated BF2000 and Star Brigade as the follow up to the movie and the next tv show could have been similar to Spiderman unlimited, batman beyond, tmnt, street sharks, ect. You could add more aliens, new sub teams, and the story could have really progressed into something like the 90s xmen show. Then the series could have progressed into VVV with spliced humans from alien tech.
Overall GIJoe could have progressed rather than stagnate by relaunching themselves over and over. Which is truly the dumbest thing they've done. Although I think if Sunbow had picked GI Joe back up rather then DIC, things would have been better. Not great, but better. Quote:
Even though I LOVE Shipwreck, here's my attempt to make him even cooler.
Shipwreck left the US Navy and promptly became a mercenary and pirate. He sold his services to the highest bidder. Thats why he was in a cobra bar when Flint and Mutt run into him.It also explains why he's so familiar with the underground locations like Pirate's Cove and other smuggler ports. After helping out the Joes, he decides that he kinda likes their company. Spending years with just a parrot for a friend had to have been a little lonely. Plus the Joes seem to pay pretty well. Doesn't mean he doesn't still do a bit of smuggling on the side, since he seems to disappear every so often. |

Some people think it's silly that the Rock Viper figure had a mustache, being that he's a Viper and there are lots of them. With the new figs, I'm trying to decide whether to get custom heads with the mustache's and make it that, if your a Rock Viper, you have to have a mustache. I think that's actually a cool idea. Paint some yellow, some brown, some black, etc...
On the other hand, I actually really like the new figures look with the mask and helmet. So maybe I will just make one guy have the original looking helmet and mustache and just make him the Rock Viper officer/leader. Just kind of thinking (or typing I should say) out loud with this one. LOL. |

I actually think the Club's phoned-in version is a tactical improvement over the original.

Ha ha, I actually just made a post on the Past & Present thread a few days ago about the Rock-Viper, and how I miss that glorious 'stache of his. Who's to say what arbitrary details Cobra is or is not allowed to require in their troops' uniforms and appearances?

I actually think the Club's phoned-in version is a tactical improvement over the original. And I really like the new HVAC. Snowcat is really nothing but a halftrack, which can be used anywhere. I just haven't had the means lately to buy it. Still saving up for Law & Order figure. LOL |

Growing the stache is just part of becoming a Rock Viper... they tried guitars but they soon learned that wasn't the 'rock' Cobra meant.

Weird real-life thing. There were some military units in history that required specific facial hair.

For example, Raptor. A Cobra villain who trains birds and puts metal claws on their feet. GI Joe should tremble in fear of this guy! Hardly. My take: Raptor loves his birds, but knows that each one will eventually die in a kamikaze mission. Raptor has trained his birds to attack Joes. he places small explosive devices on them (As much as one bird can carry). When they reach their target Raptor detonates the bombs, sacrificing his bird for the Cobra cause. Sure they won't take out a tank or even a Humvee, but it could take out a loan Joe or two. And no one is going to think twice about a bird flying towards them. Now if only I can justify him wearing that ridicules costume. |

This is exactly what I did. Mustache is my Rock Viper leader. It differentiates him from the other 4 that I have.

Got a pic? I'm curious as to how you got the mustached look on the ME version--which parts you used, etc.
