So what opinions do you have that are out of favor with the rest of the Joe community? Keep in mind that this isn't a debate thread. Consider this a safe place to say all the things you've wanted to but felt you couldn't.
-While the ROC movie is rightfully scorned, the toy line isn't that bad. Some of the figures are actually my favorites. -The sunbow GIJoe cartoon is overrated. Watching it as an adult, I'd go as far to say that some of episodes weren't even that good. -There are better versions of Snake Eyes than the ultimate version. |

-I don't like the way Hasbro and the Club made card art description for the 25th anniversary figures through today. I don't like them using the description first and the code name second. I like the way it was done from 1986 through 2004 with the code name first and the description second. Example: 1987: Code name: Law & Order Military Police & K9 2015: Military Police & K9 Code name: Law & Order.

I am in favor of a GIJoe 6" line especially if done exactly like the 6 " Star Wars black line. My son and I finished setting up his SW black figures in his shelves this weekend and they are really nice figures.
I'm not a fan of how Hasbro is letting the longest running boys action figure line just sort of slowly go into extinction, there are ways to breath new life into it, I just feel they don't want to put the effort into it and just go about making the money they do on what's " now " Not a big fan of either Hasbro or the Joe Clubs design dept, I as well as a few other customizers can fabricate better looking figures faster and make them more acceptable to the masses of the fellow collectors, I don't see why either of them do not tap into the festive resource of the GIJoe customizer,... Example; I made a Major Bludd last year for Joe con in Springfield, talked to Daryl DePriest in depth, he asked the parts recipe, yet no new Major Bludd ( whom we have not had a new one since 07'-08' ) in the new 50th waves coming. Seeing as we customizers have no ownership of said properties of characters its not like any of us would want to be compensated, I just want awesome figures on pegs. |

I don't like Raptor birdman or crystal ball. Don't know why anyone does other than to be weird.
I think the new Stilleto is terrible and would much rather have seen the other guy that got second. I really like all the figures in fss 5 including skinny Salvo but the bigger Salvo is better. Darklon and gen Flagg are great. Valor vs venom, DTC, and spytroops are the best gi joe toy series, but I like the customization and realizm of 25th-50th more.

I'm glad the FSS so far has had a steady flow of AF/Z-Force figures, even if they are repaints.

I really enjoy the Joe declassified story but it really bugs me that everyone is in love with THAT Shooter. Shooter is a Caucasian bearded person!
The DIC series is not that different than Sunbow, I find them very comparable. 90's Joes are every bit as good as 80's Joes, just a little brighter. |

I hated the bright 90's Joe era... jesus...ya needed sun glasses for the comics and the figures.
I feel we lie to ourselves a lot about the FSS figures being good..to many corners being cut. but we want theses characters so bad we take it how we get it. Ultimate Snake Eyes wasn't the best..

Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow in general are overrated and over-exposed. You used to have to wait 3 - 4 years between versions of Snake Eyes; now you get swamped with them--each variant representing a slot that could have gone to less well-represented characters. I literally stopped buying most new variants of SE and SS around Renegades and Retaliation because I already had so damn many of them.
I liked the RoC action figure line. It was damned ambitious, regardless of what you may think of the design sensibilities, although it did help contribute greatly to SE and SS overexposure (not to mention Tatum-Duke). Plus, the level of detail they had to put into the sculpts and paint jobs was good practice for the PoC brand--PoC might not have been as awesome if it was the direct follow-up to 25th/Resolute. The Retaliation line was really shaky at first, but quite good towards the end (apart from, again, multiple variants of SE and SS). It was wise to attempt bolder colors and more exaggerated designs, even if not all of them worked out. I find the 5 POA vehicle drivers from that line to be oddly endearing curiosities (but the motorcycle drivers do kinda suck off their motorcycles--that doesn't sound right). I think the Club, con exclusives, and FSS are exerting far too much control over the direction of the brand. The brand needs more visibility to the average public to succeed and grow--not to look for ways to take advantage of its strongest fans through deliberately over-priced content that, nice as it usually is, is often not that exotic or ambitiously designed.
