So after the joke of the FSS Salvo. It got me thinking about which characters everyone think are larger than average size. You got Roadblock, Gung Ho, Sgt Slaughter, Bazooka, Copperhead, Big Boa, Repeater, Heavy Duty, Roadpig etc already made/coming as larger males. Except maybe RB needs both versions remade on the larger bucks.
But what other characters from 1987 to 1994(as 1982 to 1986 is complete in modern making) would everyone like to see as larger males? In the old days, all the figures were the same size, it was up to the comics or the cartoons to decide on the sizes. But now with the modern figures 4 inches is average size, more than that are larger muscle fellows. Others, that some have thought of as bigger, I don't agree with, Rock & Roll, Outblack, Leatherneck, never saw these Joes as bigger than average, they were never portrayed that way anyway. My list goes like this, of figures that haven't been made. Roadblock 84 v1 - Needs a remake, badly I think, 25th version is way too small, I use Resolute RB - New head, Ret black vest torso, arms with 5oth Gung Ho legs Roadblock 86 v2 - Needs remaking as above, I still use 25th one, but he is way too small - New head, Ret Ultimate RB torso, arms with 50th Gung Ho legs Big Lob - Not really as large as the others, more basketball player size, slender and tall - New head with Poc Shadow Tracker torso, arms with Resolute RB legs Steam Roller - I see him big, big guy to operate a big vehicle base. New head on Resolute Roadblock torso, arms with Retaliation Repeater legs, along with Roc Heavy Duty vest Hardball - Another I have seen made big in customs, I like him large, as always seen him as Repeater's pal, like RB & GH. New head or 25th Serpentor head, 25th Shockblast hat on a 25th Bazooka torso, arms with 50th Gung Ho legs. Armadillo - Always looked large in the comic - Retaliation RB black vest torso, arms with Resolute RB legs and new head Wildcard - I always saw him as another large Joe, why else dress like he does- New head on 50th Gung Ho torso, arms, vest with Retaliation Ultimate RB legs Backblast - Got to be large to carry that triple rocket launcher, right? - new head on 50th Gung Ho torso, arms & legs, torso can be painted black. Salvo - Damn it, he has to be l;arge to carry those weapons, says on his file card he hates tech, carry all his ordnance to their targets, no heat seeking, targeting device, get up close to destroy enemy tanks - Should be using Retaliation Ultimate Roadblock, but can also use 25th Bazooka/Roc Heavy Duty bodies, 25th Serpentor/50th Tomstone head. Overlord - Large as Roadpig, don't think of him as Mindbender in disguise as some i have heard say- Resolute Roadblock body with new head So what characters do you guys see as large, maybe the same, maybe different? Let me know.

I agree with your take on Outback. Being his role as a survivalist, I imagine him being a very lean, low body fat kinda guy, strong but not necessarily big muscled.

Rock 'N Roll is described on his filecard as a bodybuilder; as a heavy machinegunner, I'd expect him to be fairly large. Maybe not HUGE, but above-average. Maybe Recondo-sized.
The idea of Leatherneck being especially large appears to be a 50th thing. He was big in 25th and RoC, but not massive. I was a little disappointed with ME Road Pig's build. Even among the original ARAH figures, you could tell when one figure was particularly muscular; Road Pig was by far the most swole figure from the original line, so much so that he got used for Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat bodies. His ME figure wasn't built enough for my liking (though I still want one). EDIT: I finally wound up with Road pig, and turns out it uses Renegades Roadblock, which is in fact one of the largest figure builds. Didn't realize that at first from the pictures I'd seen! I think it works for sure now that I have it in-hand. How about Captain Grid-Iron? He's a football player; most of them are huge. (He doesn't have some obscure ME figure I don't know about, does he?) The Ninja Force Night Creeper was also surprisingly buff. I'd love to see a ME take on him, if one doesn't already exist. Oh, yeah! And didn't the Alley Vipers get short-changed? The original file cards describe them as "gorillas", but the ME versions are all pretty lean. In general, we need more large Cobra thugs. It doesn't seem fair that it's mostly Joe characters who hit the gym. Maybe we can get a reprint of Night Adder to help even things out.

I was thinking Captain Grid Iron, as American Football players are big guys. But wasn't really sure. As being in the UK, I have never watched a match on TV.

I play with Joes with all other toy lines and in general all Joes are pretty big for this supposed scale... when you make a big guy like Leatherneck 50th he ends up being like 7 foot 6 compared to say a Star Wars or Marvel Figure.

I was so disappointed when NECA released their 3 3/4'' Gears of War line, and they were undersized compared to nearly every modern figure except maybe Star Wars. Those guys were supposed to be HUGE, and Fenix was barely as tall as Black Widow. :(

Sorry, but my Joe Nostalgia stops at 1986. I like the topic though.
