Just having a moment
Man I sure do miss the old days of no worrying about anything but waiting til the line (Joes) came out. Those days are passed and times have changed. It sure does amaze me that Hasbro and this G.I. joe line impacted us as kids. To all you collectors keep at it and live the happiness of the good old days |

When 25th anniversary first hit, there were Target isles that had 50% Joes on one side. That took me back to my childhood when we saw tons of figures and always in stock. Now we're down to a couple pegs at tru. :( I guess on the bright side we still are getting some new product.

I was jus thinking today that I've been collecting Joes longer as an adult than my entire childhood. Though my modern collection has many holes yet to fill, and some that need to be refilled, it was a great ride to take a second time with a big boy's wallet. The early days for 25th Anniversary were about as close as it's going to get. I'll take it. I may not have gotten a new hovercraft but I have a nice Cobra army!

I'll tell you what....those moments can never be replicated. The moment of going down those aisles and seeing those pegs and shelves full of figures and vehicles is just awesome! My joes were like these kids today and their devices...I was always playing with my Joes. I just wanna say thanks for sharing your memories it's nice to hear those. One day I need to find my parents vhs tapes and find the xmas when I received my Air Craft Carrier...... Now that memory is priceless and it shows the true meaning of Being happy as a kid.

Good thread. We only had a Wal-Mart but yes, I remember the tons of figures and sifting through the rows of figures. My mom was a secretary at a radio factory and brought me some miniature tools home one day and low and behold a screw driver that fit the back screw. Kinda changed my life. The house next to mine burned down (before we moved in) and there were tons of old bricks half buried that my friends and I undug and made into giant bases. So much fun, so much freedom from responsibility...just endless playing and imaginary battles.

I miss those days as well, toys will likely never have the impact they did back in the 80's, between GI Joe, Transformers, Star Wars and He-Man, a kid could spend a whole day looking at figures, now, only Star Wars has much a presence any more, most often when I go to Target there are empty pegs or next to nothing on the selves, I realize we live in a much different age now, where video game systems and mobile devices keep kids attention, gone I think are the days of playing with action figures on your living room floor.
