I so hope they redo the Night-Stalkers set with Lt. Clay Moore, and an actual pack of Shock-Vipers. (Blue ones not red ones)

I think we are so far in polls that some troopers just get forgotten.
Looks like Hannibal closing the gap now. |

I'd rather see Clay Moore as a standard Cobra Soldier like he was in the cartoon. It was bizarre they released the so-called "Shock-Viper Commander" (which has nothing to do with his cartoon storyline) 5 years after Shock-Vipers were actually sold. Did they really feel they needed an excuse to re-use Ice Cream Soldier's body again?
Certainly if they go that route, they can get 3 re-uses out of the same body and a couple out of the same head. But an FSS Ice Cream Soldier should be as unpopular a choice as FSS Barricade. And possibly cause neon-induced seizures in recipients, especially if it's the surprise 13th figure and the customer opens it unwittingly. Last edited by JediJones; 07-06-2016 at 05:33 PM.. |

Weren't the club staff responsible for a lot of the Filecards during those post break years? Real hero collection or whatever they called. It is how Sure-fire and Big Brawler are named for Brian and David from the GIJoe club. Maybe they are responsible for the Shock-Viper and subsequently wanted to make use of that collection when they made a fanboy favorite in Lt. Clay Moore? I thought he was a great looking figure.

It was the 1997 and 1998 filecards that were fan written.
Not sure about the 2000-2002 ones, though I doubt longtime fans would get Lifeline and Dusty's filenames, etc. wrong. Whiteout was named after toy mag scalper rag publisher Leonard Lee. Double-Blast was named after another fan, too, I think. |

Lifeline's bio is heavily rewritten on the Greg Scott versions, so it's likely they were not meant to be the original character at all. Except they used a pic of the original Lifeline on the 2nd one's bio-card seemingly by mistake. They did re-use the same SSN, even though the 1994 Lifeline used the "wrong" one.
I think Dusty/Rudat was a legal issue during a time when Hasbro didn't want to use any real person's name on a figure who hadn't signed off on it by modern legal standards. Looks like they changed his birthplace but otherwise the bio looks similar. |

Come to think of it, since Greg Scott uses the original Lifeline Edwin Steen's SSN, he might have been guilty of identity theft.
