Surprised no one posted this yet. "G. I. Pawn" on Pawn Stars.
Used from childhood, SOMEHOW all the pieces are there, quoted at $4,000-$5,000 for both the Defiant and USS Flagg. He settled for $3,000. I just can't believe that all the pieces are there, no broken tabs...meanwhile the doofus seller is crawling inside the box getting "stuck" while putting the vehicles together. smh... Watch G.I. Pawn Full Episode - Pawn Stars | HISTORY

Wow. I never imagine those boxes were that big... I think 3.000 is a bargain for those 2 mind in boxes.
When I move to a bigger place I'm going to buy and own for the first time the Defiant... That piece is just gorgeous.

I kinda saw this last night. I am dealing with a bad cold and was just waking up and seen this on TV. I thought it was American pickers at first.

The Flagg? Completely over rated. Its way too big to be displayed anywhere but the largest of areas like a finished basement. And even then it can be difficult to display as you need room for 360 access to all sides to get into the areas. And then to find that a good portion of the ship is little more than a facade. Lastly having a Flagg that is complete is always an issue. Overall the Flagg is one of my least favorite sets...it looks cool as hell, but once you own one you'll see its far from the best playset. |

The Defiant is a great piece...its only drawbacks are the crank break issue and the crawler is pretty weak plastic overall.

Is always good to have some first hand feedback from people that owns those playsets. By watching several videos on the FLagg I notice what you mentioned. The Defiant is the one I been craving since I saw it in the 1988 catalog actually in 1988 when I received my first vehicle from the GI JOE line...

The Flagg is an awesome playset. Mine is displayed with no problem. I had no issues finding one complete. It is fun to have Cobra invade it and try to take it over. Even as a kid my buddies and I that had one always played on them. Sometimes it was an aircraft carrier other times we put the Joe hq in front of it or on it and just used it to make the Joe hq HUGE.
But I am the opposite I have never wanted nor seen a need for a deviant. |
