The Flagg is an awesome playset. Mine is displayed with no problem. I had no issues finding one complete. It is fun to have Cobra invade it and try to take it over. Even as a kid my buddies and I that had one always played on them. Sometimes it was an aircraft carrier other times we put the Joe hq in front of it or on it and just used it to make the Joe hq HUGE.
But I am the opposite I have never wanted nor seen a need for a deviant.

I have the Defiant and the Flagg and love them both. I agree that the Flagg is not very moveable, but with the brittle plastic that the Defiant is made out of, it's not very mobile either. If you have room for an 8 foot table, you have room for a Flagg. I Find that you don't need to have access to all sides of the Flagg. If you place the flight deck side against a wall, you still get all the playability of the island and the take off & landing functions of the flight deck. Also, the island is still small enough to be able to reach around it to gain use of the entire flight deck. The Flagg will become a center piece for all you sea & air personnel and vehicles, with plenty of room for their crews.
The Defiant however lacks enough space to effectively use all the Star Brigade characters that were created. There's plenty of room in the crawler to add support personnel, but the shuttle itself can't accommodate all the Joe astronauts. On the plus side, the Defiant is more detailed, takes up less space, and has more playability in the set itself. I would recommend both to anyone, as long as you have the space. |

I just watched it On Demand. Very cool episode.
I'd love to have the boxes! I have a Flagg but haven't found the right deal on a Defiant but hope to one day.

The Crawler part is defiantly like having a headquarter for the Joes.

What catalog is that picture from? It reminds me of the old Sears, JCPenny, Service Merchandise, Best Products catalogs. I like how they had it set up, where you could buy the set of single carded good guys or bad guys. I spent hours, as a child, staring at those pictures in the catalogs.

I have both, kids that got these back in the day were hella lucky... I used to stare at the Defiant's box on the top shelf of Target in Littleton Colorado back in the 80s and wanted it soooooooo bad... hell, even the Terror Drome was out of my reach as a kid...

Im a self hating flag owner. Its too big to ship and too expensive to give away. I kind of just want my house to burn down.
