I just started buying them a week ago, but last night i opened 5 out of the 7 figures I got. I cut around the sides and bottom of the bubble so I could slide the figure out.
I'm going to fix up my old joes and display them together. |

I guess it depends on your situation and your space issues. For example, mostly everything I own are still in their original package but I did open my Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) and Transformers Cybertron.
I'm on a clutter cutting-phase thanks to my wife. Because I write a lot of reviews, aside from my toy collection, I have a very large DVD, video game and CD collection that I had to invest in a great number of DVD/CD binders in 2007 to eliminate the clutter and not make my home look like Hollywood Video or Blockbuster. Also, I debated like yourself if I would open or not open and then I thought a) I would if I lived in a house with 4-5 bedrooms...use one of the bedrooms as toy museum. So, then I would open. b) Because of the current job market and if I moved back to a metropolitan area...then more than likely, would have to move from a house to an apartment first...definitely have no space to display them. Not sure if there are other Joe collectors who have to entertain guests or have clients come into their homes or home office frequently but I'm always tempted to open. But circumstances always prevent me from doing so.

I'm looking forward to getting a few to open. as I've probably said, I collect MOC, but so many of these are just too cool to leave in the box. Wave 4 Commander, and Battle Armor Commander especially.
