Instead of stories based on tales of G. I Joe, why not stories on Cobra and their splinter groups? Tales of Cobra.

IDW pretty much did this with their Cobra series.

The original IDW series was excellent, but it was very much an espionage thriller based around Cobra high command. I'd love to see a comic that follows the Cobra rank and file.
Start out with a platoon of Blueshirt recruits, and follow them as they progress through the ranks and the different troops types. If this were set in the earlier ARAH time period, it would allow us to revisit those old stories but from the Cobra POV. Just imagine some stories set during the Cobra Island Civil War or the Battle of Benzheeen... I think a book like this could get into detail about the various troop types, the training and selection, etc, the rivalry between the different factions within Cobra. There could even be another Civil war pitting the Vipers against the Blueshirts or something like that. The casualty rate would be high of course, but if you start out with a platoon you can do that. Perhaps one of the recruits could be Mercer? Plenty of the guys would survive and would have a go at Eel or Snow Serpent selection, and a few of them would make it. There would be some undisciplined guy and he'd end up as a Toxo Viper or a Desert Scorpion... Etc Lots of awesome options here. |

I like Stormgard's idea. To watch what it would be like moving through Cobra would be very interesting.
