You should call a plumber. Water in the basement is never good.

I always thought the Aircraft Carrier's in Battlefield 3 and 4 were kinda like the Flagg. They were pretty small, but they could host a full assault force inside them and on board. (not the campaign Carrier, those were a lot larger, the Multiplayer Carrier)
It had at minimal 2 jets, one attack heli, one transport heli, 3 or 4 assault rafts, and 2 or 3 A-IFVs so if you compare that to what was possible on the GI Joe Carrier, its pretty close as far as loadout. Also had hovercrafts inside it at one point i am assuming (Based on that one map) that could deploy MBT like the M1A1 Abrahms Also, the BUGG is a full functional submarine i think, not just some brown water swamp vehicle. There is nothing to say that thing wouldnt work in ocean environments and to be used as a beach head assault vessel. That said, it prob couldnt go AS DEEP as say a full sized submarine, but if you wanna be creative, and use comic lore, Destro could in theory deploy them from his submarine fleet. (Maybe a custom BUGG Carrier Sub that opens up on the bottom, where the bugg just rolls into the water) I kinda am sad that I dont write for the GI Joe Comics now, i think that would make a nice battle scene, a bunch of Buggs assaulting DC's beaches after Destro deploys them. ....sort of like that experimental SEAL deploying sub the DoN was kicking around a couple of years ago. I think range would be the only thing keeping the BUGG from being a full on deep water vehicle... getting caught away from a friendly port would strand you if you pursued or maneuvered to far out in the wrong direction and would need logistical support.
I was thinking about this thread last night while playing toys with my son that both Joe and Cobra MOST need is a basic naval trooper. I don't mean divers but rather a straight up sailor. Joe wise a naval equivalent of the green shirt. I mean I use the DG Shipwrecks for it but unless you keep the dive mask on all of them it looks like a weird "boys from brazil" situation going on. The real lost opportunity however is on Cobras side... imagine a basic Cobra naval trooper in Popeye pants and those striped pullies like the Russians wear but with a sigil on it. I think it would be an awesome kitschy little figure that would sell a ton. |

I use the DTC Troopers as my Cobra Navy Troopers. Not divers but it looks like they are wearing a wetsuit.

For Cobra Navy troopers, I could see using V1 Crimson Guards as Navy Personal. The straps on there chest piece, that silver rope cord looks like a nice design I could see as a Naval Decor. Reminds me of tying boats to the dock.
That and just the basic Cobra Infantry would work too. The guys in blue, and black masks. with basic blue helm. I think also Viper's are pretty universal. I had two Cobra Vipers as pilots in my Cobra Mamba jet pods, and the normal pilot in the heli itself. It looked great, but I also could use them in other vehicles and feel fine about it, like the BUGG or the Saw Blade thing. @Warren, yea, i can see your point on the range of usage for the bugg i suppose too, Would be interesting to scale up the Flagg and see it deploy the Hedgehog for amphibious assaults too. |

Yep, in the meantime I just use one of the regular trooper varieties for navy guys but it changes depending on what we are playing and what is in use. I keep an army of the 25th Cobra troopers ( been my fav recently, just something nostalgic and classic about them) then an army of POC/ 30th/ 50th Cobra troopers, best articulation and gear, then also an army of the DG yellow strap troopers, those usually get navy or flightline duty because for some reason that bright yellow ( In addition to working with my 25th comic pack Officers with yellow straps, air troopers and this weird thing I made by putting extra cobra heads on DG Cobra commander bodies) makes me think in the rear with the gear.

the Hydrosled, Moccassin, Hydrofoil, Piranha and the others are all strictly 'brown water' vessels for coastal or river water combat. None are suited to 'blue water' deep sea combat, like an aircraft carrier or a frigate. they don't have the fuel range or the supplies storage to undertake extended week-long voyages across the seas.
As for Cobra 'sailors' - I mentioned before that the Rescue Mission Neo-Vipers are naval troops. Cobra EELs also make great Cobra sailors. The villains in the old Jonny Quest TV show wore wetsuits as their 'uniforms' in any naval capacity - why would it not work for Cobra as well? |

For Cobra, this is as good as it gets. Cobra is a clandestine organization by necessity. They can't have an ocean going fleet any more than ISIS could - the moment it hits open water, the world's Navies would hunt it down and sink it. The only ocean-going vessels available to Cobra would be submarines because they are harder to detect.

You say that, like Cobra never used a single LARGE HERE I AM target creation before, The Terror Dome is pretty much the equal in my eyes to using a naval fleet. Its highly visible, it screams Blow me up. and yet, it took GI Joe, till the movie to do so. Also, giant Cobra Airship Carrier. So its not like a giant suface fleet for Cobra is out of the question. Its just a matter of why have when you have giant airship instead. |

As a toy why not? Who didn't want a toy version of that Helicarrier? Of course that is pretty impractical. I think the rolling PIT is probably as big as Hasbro can go. If a giant Helicarrier was flying over the American Southwest I don't even know how many missiles would be aimed at it. Probably all of them.
Realistically though, if ISIS had a Naval vessel floating in the open ocean, there would be a race of about 30 seconds to see who could sink it first just for target practice.

Releasticly though ISIS doesnt have NEARLY as much resources backing them as Cobra, and Cobra has the technology to keep something like a surface fleet well protected.
